    In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

    Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

Gary - you ARE that person...and it does help. I still tend to read what you have to say, because (as you indicated) you generally don't post unless you have something to add.

How long till the vote and how long will it run? We are going to need time to agonize over whom we would like to cast our votes for. Lets get this party started :D
 
I think there are some GREAT names up for nomination. I will be happy with whoever gets appointed the position(s) and do all that I can to support them.

I wish the polling script allowed me to limit the votes to a variable number per voter, but unfortunately it does not. So my choices will be either limit it to one selection on the list, or multiple choices where the voter can vote on as many candidates as they want to.

I want the nomination process to run a little bit longer so at least the nominations that haven't been accepted or declined can chime in. I was really hoping that some of the nominations that declined would reconsider. Seems to me that when I was considering closing down the BOI, quite a few people were aghast that I was saying this was going to be too much for me to continue in my retirement, and yet when I come here asking for help to make this place a more professional atmosphere to help limit the liability I mentioned, well, THIS is the kind of help I truly need.

As for the voting itself, that will run until I feel that the voting has pretty much played itself out.

BTW, just in case someone gets crazy from irresistible temptation, I will be monitoring the voting, and if there is a case whereby a bunch of new registrations are coincidentally voting for a particular nominee, that nominee will be disqualified out of hand. I would hope no one on the list would even contemplate such a thing, but I've had (and have) some otherwise ethical people do stupid stuff like that on my FaunaTopSites site. So this is a bud that really needs to be nipped, just in case.

I feel a little guilty reading that. :eek:

But, my boss is letting these guys on the ARMY base know that he's not liking all the hoops we have to jump through every day to get the job done, and looks like he's about to invite them to fire us.

So, looks like I'll have some of my free time back. :thumbsup:

That being said, if the opportunity to "reconsider" my declination is there, I think I'll use that now. This is my home, and if helping out will keep it around, then count me in.

Why would you say such a thing? If you keep up... someone will stop you... and it could be a week long vacation.
