    In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

    Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

Ahem, last I checked this was the Fauna Classifieds FEEDBACK Forum and I do not recall seeing where this thread was designated as Nominate Your Candidate ONLY.

i wasn't basing my statement on the forum title, but rather this thread specifically. i just figured this actual thread was created only for the purpose of nominating users for a future poll instead of a conversation so the moderators wouldn't have to read through off topic information. it's alright though, both you and Royal_Morphz still have my support. :D
 
Seems like the door got opened when the staff started talking about other things than just the nominations (ie their duties)

Thanks, I'm glad to still have your support Bradley. :thumbsup: The off topic stuff is what potential Mods are going to have to sift through and with the exception of the BOI I have not seen where it is planned on being curbed. That's not to say that it isn't a future phase of action in the planning. :shrug01:
 
I'm just as guilty as everyone else, but the chatter does make it harder on them scratching through it all to find out who has been nominated, and who has declined/accepted.
 
Actually, I would prefer that all of the nominees know what is in store for them, and asking here is not a real bad idea. Better to find out now rather than later. But there is some off topic chatter here that is throwing a lot of chaff into the pile. Some is OK, but I would rather not have TOO much in this thread.

I did specifically state my question was something to reflect on, and that there was no need to post responses....

There's been a bunch of stuff posted that distracts from the purpose and adds clutter, making the nominations and responses more difficult to find. I'm keeping track, though, and I think I have a pretty good handle on everybody's status. In recent PMs with Rich, I think I mentioned all of the nonrespondants, as well as most of the ones that declined. I've been updating the list of accepted nominations, so Rich doesn't HAVE to sift through everything.

I got married, so I am Donna Fernstrom now. I thank you very much for the nomination, but I will have to decline due to time constraints. I just don't feel I can be on the forum consistently enough to mod for it, and I am already a mod on several other unrelated forums.

I was curious about him since I did not recognize the name. He does indeed sound like a fine person from what I saw, but when I did my search (correct me if I did not search right, I am computer impaired) it looked like he only had 8 posts here on Fauna.

Fauna has, of course, with the BOI, a lot of business issues. But as well, it has quite the cast of characters (including myself, I suppose :D).

I would think that it might be better to have someone running for mod that has experience in being part of the community?
 
Well I no I already nominated David DanD and Nicholas,but Kevin Ridge top reptiles is really growing on me I like his Swagger! I mean to say we had a lil tit for tat in a forum a long time ago But this Dude is way Cool and a true Reptile Man!

Last call!

OK, I'm about ready to wrap this up. Any new nominations, anyone accepting open nominations, or anyone reconsidering their declining the nominations will need to get a move on if they want to be included.

BTW, I may ask all nominations to be voted on to post some sort of resume in the new thread for the voting. What I will do is create the thread first, ask for those resumes to be posted, and then add the actual poll afterwards when people can have a chance to read about the nominations.

Also, the list of nominations will be presented to the current mods so we can veto anyone that we feel might have issues, past or current, that could generate a conflict of interest concerning this site.

And just to reiterate, the poll SHOULD NOT be a popularity contest. I want everyone to vote for the person they feel will be the BEST of the group for a moderator. That means the person you feel is best able and willing to do the job, and in the process help to make this site a better place for YOU and everyone else to frequent regularly.

Thanks to all for their help with this.
