In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

Is that too much for me to ask of you to keep this site running? Well, sorry about that. I too wish I could get everything for free. But alas.....

Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

Just a heads up...

There is something fishy going on here. I am convinced that this individual is posting on here with a false name.

I contacted him on Wednesday the 31st of March inquiring about a post he had up on my local (Little Rock, AR) Craigslist. It was for an adult female Joliff line Axanthic. We emailed back and forth about her and I ended up not getting her because I didn't have what he was looking for in trade - which was either blue-tongues or tortoises.

In all of our correspondences, he identified himself as Chris Brandenburgh. The email address he was emailing from is [email protected]. He was from Topeka, KS.

Then, earlier today, I noticed a similar ad for a Joliff line adult female axanthic looking to trade for blue-tongues or tortoises. The guy was from Topeka, Kansas as well and had just signed up for an account on March 29th of 2010.

I have all email correspondence between him and myself and can post that information if needed. I just wanted to give people a heads up so nobody gets scammed!

After a bit of further digging, I found a thread about Chris Brandenburgh that is quite interesting. Looks like he has already tried to create a different username to cover his butt in the past.

Buyer beware on this one!

Here are the emails exchanged, just for comparison purposes. They go in order from the bottom up.

Yep, about 15 min from Little Rock. Your post showed up on the Little Rock craigslist for some reason.

Thank you,
Anya

Chris,

Well, I really don't have anything to trade for her then. We only work with snakes - boas, ball pythons, blood pythons, brazilian rainbow boas, woma pythons, and cribos. Do you have any other ball pythons that you may get rid of in the future? Where are you located?

Thank you,
Anya

I dont think he is saying anything in the emails were fishy, just that he is posting on here as a different name then what he was posting on craigslist as. Thanks for the heads up, unless there's a good explanation, it is pretty fishy IMHO.

2 different names=Cover up it seem like. On that BOI post form his older postings. Seems hes trying to make a new name for him self, but in the wrong way.

Can we get a IP check on the Old and New member names.

Please be aware that there is a typo in the name posted. Russell LARSON and NOT Russell Lawson, who is a very good trustworthy breeder.

Oops, sorry! I meant to type Larson. Is there any way we can fix that so there is no confusion? Mod request?

Thanks,
Anya Hogan

I don't play nice with scammers, I have been shafted too many times! I want to warn people before incidents happen.

How have I scammed you? I did not know I was guilty by association I know of a lot of reptile keepers in Topeka and the surrounding area/area's just because i'm from Topeka makes me a scam? what next ? i know of mark miller and kelly haller and countless others just because i have known them, talked to them, done trade's, sold, or bought animals from them that make's me a bad guy?
I am currently dissolving all my breeding loan's / partnerships with a number of people in the area / surrounding.
If you have been done wrong in the past then you should take that up with the parties that screwed you not me.. I don't know you, I have never talked with you.
I heard of this site in a forum on another site and thought I would take a chance on fauna despite what I read about this site.
I"m not one to judge at face value or judge based on other's word's I too have been screwed over in the past as well Anya and I have showed up at them people's home's and collected on the screwing and have never done anything with tho's people sent's then so.... I joined signed up and I am still figuring out how to do everything on this site so far several people have helped me to do so for a minute it seemed like everyone on here where cool cat's and very helpful on issues's (till now)
If you had any doubt's about the snake in question why didn't you P.M me and inquire about it instead of posting this thread??
if you have any further question's feel free to ask I have done no wrong doing and I have no problem's air-ing this matter out to the public since this thread is active i'll post any question's you have rite here for everyone to view
thanks,
god-bless
Russ

Chris/Russ ....

I have a question. What is your legal name? Are you masquerading as Russel Larson for a reason?

I heard of this site in a forum on another site

Your profile says otherwise:
FULL NAME
RUSSEL LARSON
City, State, Country
TOPEKA KS USA
Interests
reptiles and torts
Occupation
home remodeling
Biography
wife and kids and the kids new passion are tortoises
Where did you hear about FaunaClassifieds?
GOOGLE SEARCH

I didn't even have to capitalize "Google Search" - it's in the profile like that. Couldn't miss it.

No one has labeled you a bad guy ... just someone who seems to use an alias for whatever reason. Usually people advertising animals for sale using an alias are sellers to be 1) avoided completely or 2) approached with extreme caution ... and unfortunately, under scrutiny.

I googled and read other posting's about this site some were outstanding reveiw's and some were bad reveiw's I also have heard alot from word of mouth as well ... so I took a gamble on it and my crap shoot craped out i guess
that is my legal name
on another note I have contacted the person in question and requested that my animal's be removed from his website by Monday morning and honestly I did not know I could not get a Tortoise or 2 for my kid for Easter

yes it is it's a typo i typed to fast and did not know that till now thanks Steve

I will fix the typo as soon as I can figure out how to do so all this is new to me
