    Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

With all due respect, Wendy, all the people you were "sending" to Fauna were sent with a purpose. Giving gift certificates to people for coming here to relate their positive experiences in your store (with no purchase necessary!) is more than a little self serving. I absolutely understand your desire to show there is more to your business than the aspects of your past that were continually being raised...but surely you can see why feedback solicited in this manner has a bit of a shadow over it.
Let your animals, your customer service, and your resultant business success do the talking. The praises will come naturally, and be better accepted. That said, by all means, focus your energies on your customers...and making them repeat customers.

The rule is for ANONYMOUS third party quotes, and she posted the name(s) attributed to that message. I don't see a problem.
 
My point exactly Harold. David was not a "solicited" customer. He purcased a gecko years ago on here and had me ship it. This time he saw an ad on here and inquired about a trade.

At no time did he email me a link to his thread and request a coupon.

Yet he was attacked. A regular Fauna member..........

I didn't see it as being "attacked," Wendy. I think some of us are zealous in wanting to keep the BOI organized to make the search function more "effective?" :D

*If he purchased the gecko YEARS ago, and it had nothing to do with the AD on your website when he inquired about a trade...why just NOW post a good guy thread (it doesn't make sense)? Not that there's anything wrong with it.... I do know that a customer of mine contacted me recently to express his satisfaction with animals that he had purchased a year ago, and his post reflected that and I did ask him to post here (I admit it):yesnod:..

I see absolutely NOTHING wrong with requesting that satisfied customers post a good guy thread if they are satisfied. If it causes old posts to be brought up (been there done that) just keep slogging on as I did. Eventually..it passes. Everything passes till the next screw up!:ack2::rofl:

Somehow you even missed those only 2 facts amungst all the rest of the worthless posts about rules being violated that were not.

Well I feel I should chime in at this point. With a few facts.
1. I could care less when people have personal issues and flame on a board. That's life and business. Unless there's proof I don't buy it. It's all hearsay at that point and I'd rather go at my own experiences.
2. I felt singled out due to whom my thread was about. Not attacked. Sry people not gonna get rid of me that easially lol.
3. Do not like being spoken down to like a child. "you have been a member for a long time u know the rules". Yes I do. Obviously u don't as I did not break any. May be bad form to post another. But I for one don't like reading a 100page post to get to good or bad info. I like to read individual ones. Rather than someone bringing up year old threads to add more.
4. I would have posted the same (a new) thread for anyone I have a dealing with. I know how much good and bad publicity can do. But also how much bad no publicity can hurt. I haven't sold a single one of my 09 hatchlings cause no one knows good or bad about me. And I will guarantee if the topic was about another person this thread would not have half the arguments in it. If that'll be the case I'll keep a list of the people I will and won't trust and keep it to myself. Good business dictates repeat customers. Not always opinions.
5. I think the coupons are a good idea however I feel they should be sent out after a review is made. Not known they will get one. But info given where feedback can be made. I didn't have a need for the coupons as my transaction was a trade. Yet I do not feel one is necessary. She sent me heatpacks for my leos going to her Monday. And sent the cresties when the first mailing of heatpacks did not come thru. I do not know anyone else that would do that for someone that they hadn't done business with in 4 years. To me that was discount enough, the level of service I got.
6. Threads cannot be deleted by a user. So what is the point in a non mod saying shouldn't post additional threads? Then flame wars. If u have a problem with someone you haven't dealt with personally. Start a thread somewhere else that's for discussion. Not starting more debates. Just don't read or post in that thread if you have bad feelings for the person it's written about. It is almost like post boosting when u do cause u know there will be rebuttles and more for u to answer back and to me that's bad form.

Got my 3 crested geckos in this afternoon. Arrived perfectly and in great condition.

No worries David. I didn't see anything wrong with what you posted. If you've had a good deal by all means post it. People do learn from their mistakes, it can happen. I don't like the whole soliciting threads thing that's been going on, but it seems like you had a legit trade. We've just got a few wannabe mods around here that like to go slapping people with rule books they have no business wielding.

I pointed out a users account was hacked. Everyone said it wasnt true. The hacker admitted he did..............no apologies handed out.

A 60 year old customer recovering from a bout with cancer wanted a tortoise, posted here, was shopping on here, was treated like dirt. Never came back here. But I am grateful she did come back in and get her tortoise for me instead..............no apologies handed out.

I got accused of posting 3rd party posts that I didnt...............no apologies handed out.

David made a legitimate post, got treated like dirt. .............no apologies handed out.

Poor me - my butt, I dont feel like a victim. I have thicker skin than any of you on your best day. I am just stating the obvious. My good guy posts have always exceeded the 2 bad guy posts.

It is the people with moral hang ups and personal issues that have the problems..........all the endless rambling never has ANYTHING to do with a transaction.

I figured the countdown was on for this to get dragged back up again. It's all been posted and tossed around multiple times. While some of the arguments for doing so might be somewhat valid, the apparent fixation on the porn history really doesn't have much relevance to the matters at hand (but that's the thing that gets the attention). Let's just nip this in the bud, and stop it before it gets started.

I already addressed that, Wendy...I know you are defending yourself, but you are also keeping that part of discussion going. I appreciate your openness, and willingness to talk about these things, but the point of my previous post was to put the brakes on that topic - not to stop everybody except you from talking about it.
