    Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

has anyone delt with allen befor, should i stay away from Big Daddys whole sale, or are they ok, thanks
 
I've heard both side's when it comes to Allen. My own personal experiences with him are all positive. I have dealt with him a few times without any problem at all. But I've heard some bad about him as well. Hope this helps.
 
I would steer clear!

I bought a proven breeder spider het hypo from him back in 08 for a $1000 bucks and after reading the boi months later I wish I had not bought it from him. This is simply FYI but I bred him too two known hets got 10 eggs and no hypos from the 5 or 6 females he bred I only produced 5 or 6 spiders in 35 eggs or so... I took him to a hypo this season to find out best I can wether or not I got screwed... I belive he IS a het but I just wouldn't buy from some one that has his reputation for selling normals as poss hets and even worse... read the boi and make an informed decision about who your buying from.
 
Me personally... after watching him back some proven scum here on the BOI... that tells me enough about his character. I wouldn't take the chance.
 
I have never delt with him, but have saw plenty of negative ads regaurding himself. I would say no, he is not a good person to deal with. But you also will have others say the complete oposite.

he can still be het it just seem like you have bad luck when it comes to odds

James, this is what I think you should do...

Research him here on the BOI as well as any other avenues that you have. Make a conclusive decision, for yourself, what you think is in your best interest. Just make sure that you always remember that its buyer beware. You have all the tools that you need right at your fingertips.

I have personally never dealt with Big Daddys Wholesale or Allen but I have read the BOI threads on him and have made my decision based on whats best for me and my business;)
 
I bought some bps from Allen back in 2005 or 2006. I spent a couple thousand dollars with him for a spider and some pastels, and everything I got was top notch. He was honest with me about the spider not having started feeding yet, but the little guy wasn't a problem to start.

I'm not saying you should deal with him, just that the one time I did I was not disappointed.
 
From what I heard about Big Daddy's is that the animals are kept in smaller enclousers than whats recommended due to the fact he buys ALOT of stock and also Buys out other breeders and sells their remaining stock with out knowing Hets from Normals Personally I wouldnt aquire anything from Allen even if a 100% Het came with the paperwork

:iagree: I think you just said it the best! A few good deals or not... I'm not going to support any one that abuses animals just for proffit.

As for genetic guarantees like david said there only as good as who hands them to you... I bet any scammer will sell you a ball that's HET TRYANNASOURS REX for $10,000 with a photo genetic guarantee! But I'll bet you won't find them in 2 years to cash in your "guarantee"....

And yes I could have EASILY just missed breeding just 2 het females and never said that the het hypo wouldn't prove out... all I said was I'm not going to hold my breath and that's why I bred him to my hypo female, ill find out with something like 95% accuracy that he is or is not a het. Either way I learned my lesson about checking out people BEFORE I buy.
