    In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

    Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

Anyone else having problems with this site being intermittently unavailable throughout the day? I've had two instances already where the server was apparently unresponsive.... :shrug01:
 
Not recently no...I used to have problems at about 8 AM every day for about 15 minutes, but that hasn't happened in a while.
 
I have had a few lately myself. I just figured it was my ISP. But now that I think about it, I was able to go to other sites. Who knows, electronics can be funny sometimes.
 
No-I haven't had that happen here at all-only on the Repashy forums-and it can literally take me DAYS before I can get to the page I want.

Always getting the "server too busy" crap, but when I report it, it nevergets fixed.

I haven't had it happen recently (within the past 2-3 weeks), but I've experienced that a few times....if it's been happening, that I haven't noticed could easily be blamed on my more sporadic availability, though.

Same here. Not sure if it was 8am, however it always happened around the same time every day (early am). I chalked it up to you guys doing daily scheduled work on your server :shrug01:. It wasn't too much of an inconvenience...FC always ended up coming back :D. Come to think of it, that hasn't happened in a few weeks now :thumbsup:.

However, yes, yesterday & today alone the site was unresponsive (for me, anyway) 2 or 3 times. One moment the site was there, the next moment "server unavailable." This time around, however, all it took was a quick refresh and I was back on FC :shrug01:.
 
For me, it happens early AM. The site becomes unresponsive for about 15 minutes a couple times here and there. Like Nick, I just figured it was either updating itself or downloading.
 
At 2:34 pm today I clicked on Fauna in my browser, I got a green screen and waited and waited, then the logo in the upper left hand corner loaded and that was it. I got tired of waiting so I went to another site. I would try to get back here every minute or so and it would say internet explorer could not open the page, and sometimes it would do nothing at all. In the meantime I would go to different sites to make sure my ISP was working properly and it was. It was 3:05 pm before I was finally able to get back on. I am in the Eastern time zone and my ISP is Verizon Fios.
 
I just checked active users. at 3:13 pm there was 215 users registered. That seems extremely low. So maybe they can't get on here either.
 
I just had the same dropout. I tried to open the site at 2:15 EST, didn't even get part of it to load, the connection just timed out. I've been doing other things on the net in the meantime, keeping this tab open and reloading the page every few minutes. It was 3:10 when it finally loaded, and appears to be loading at normal speed.
My ISP is AT&T

Had the same thing happen here. My ISP is Comcast.

About the same time for me today as well.
 
Dropped out this afternoon, for me, too. Didn't check the time, though...after not being able to get back on for about half an hour, I went back outside to do more yardwork :thumbsup:
(Windows XP, Internet Explorer, on this computer...didn't try the laptop)
