    Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

I have a question for you in the garden of eden was the First snake a male or a female? Wich one came first the chicken or the egg so to speak!
Is or was it possible for a female to reproduce with out its male counter part?
I have heard of other species of animal adapting and reproducing is it or was it possible.
 
There was no garden of eden....

It's all just a made up fairytale that exists because people are either too scared of their own mortality and don't want to admit that this is all there is, or they feel that without some all mighty deity human life life has no value.

While I firmly believe in a Higher being-God-I also believe in science.

Maybe the first snake was a gravid female. If it were a case of parthenogenesis, all the offspring would also be female, and there would be no males to help carry on the species...unless Satan-in his snake guise-mated with the female.

But it could be that God made a BUNCH of snakes of both genders...Hell...I don't know...I wasn't there!!

First of all, I believe the term was serpent. Second, where does it say that there were no more there?

Unless it was one of the species which demonstrate automictic parthenogenesis. Both forms of parthenogenesis are represented in the reptile kingdom depending on which sex possesses the dissimilar sex chromosomes in the species in question.
 
I think it would be much more probable that a mutation (randomly) became fixed in an already breeding population (most likely lizards) which likely resulted in a variation in HOX gene expression, and through many millions of years of breeding within that population, stochastic molecular events coupled with selection resulted in the emergence of what we know as "snakes" today...

I'll just post what my choice would've been. No offense intended to anyone.

I don't believe in the Garden of Eden or any Bible related stories. I believe in something/someone superior to us but in no way is the same as the "being" depicted in the bible and most religions. I believe in the big bang theory and evolution so my thought would be that after plenty of evolution from a single celled organism there were either snakes that reproduced asexually and even further on a species of 2 sexes came about or there were 2 different sexes that evolved from that single celled organism. But hey, that's just my take on it. :shrug01:
