In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

Yeah, I know. They are a pain in the butt. But they pay the bills to keep my server running. Just a fact of life, I am afraid.

Want to get rid of them? Simple. Just become a Contributor level member or above and they will be gone. -> Please click HERE."

Is that too much for me to ask of you to keep this site running? Well, sorry about that. I too wish I could get everything for free. But alas.....

    =====================

Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

His first post on Fauna points to his website which is using pics from numerous other sources, including ads from Kathy Love on Cornsnakes.com.

His website: http://fatfrogs.webs.com/available.htm

His post: http://www.faunaclassifieds.com/forums/showthread.php?t=175236

Screenshots from his site and the corresponding links to sites or posts he got the pics from:

I only checked three, but after finding all of them elsewhere, seemed no sense in checking further.

For how many other simple little sites like that that we've seen pop up using nothing but pictures belonging to others, it was usually the result of someone that only had wc or was flipping unhealthy stock thus had no pictures of their own to use without showing the true quality of what they were attempting to sell.
Guess we will wait for an explanation from Justin on this issue. Have you notified him of this thread?

I'm gunna love this thread :yesnod:

if you could also post screen shots of the websites he stole the pics from, that would be great, and have you emailed/talked to the people he stole the pics of to make them aware?

A PM has been sent to the subject, as well as links to this thread on his ads. Also, Kathy Love (owner of the first two pics on his 'available' page, and Takeshi Ebinuma (owner of the Bufo Regularis photo) have been notified of the copyright infringements.

Well, I'm glad these scammers are getting lazier/dumber lol

Very nice work John.

I doubt the person in question will commit .I have always had the assumption that if you steal pictures you do not possess said item. This could be very good if the person answers here.

Thanks for letting me know!

I did tell Bill about the unauthorized use. Bill said he didn't put his logo on those photos as he usually does when posting on the Internet because they were just "quickie sales photos" rather than his good photos he offers for sale. That still does not excuse the use of them without permission, and they should be taken down until and unless permission is granted. Guess it just goes to show that ALL photos should be marked with something to make them more difficult to steal, whether great works or art or quick snapshots!

Thanks for posting this, and alerting me.

If this individual does indeed have any of these animals I would have figured it would have been easier to take his/her own pics instead of visiting multiple sites to steal their pictures. I could only imagine the animals condition if the person isn't smart enough to eliminate the other names on the pics from which they were stolen. Either way this person is certainly someone who I would not do business with, a thief is a thief. :NoNo:

Excellent point.

How hard would it be for people to ask permission to use someone's photo's, the worse that can say is no. I find it an honor when someone asks if they can use a photo of mine. I haven't refused anyone and all I've asked for in return was that the photo be credited to me.

Exactly! I asked Joe Compel if I could use the photograph of the female Super Pastel I purchased from him in some advertising, even so far as to possibly wrap my van using the photo as my logo. All he asked of me was to talk to my printer to see exactly what size photo they needed, in pixels, and he would take care of it. Not only did he say yes, he offered to mail them to me on disk. I am still waiting for the disk but, it hasnt been long.
