In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

Yeah, I know. They are a pain in the butt. But they pay the bills to keep my server running. Just a fact of life, I am afraid.

Want to get rid of them? Simple. Just become a Contributor level member or above and they will be gone. -> Please click HERE."

Is that too much for me to ask of you to keep this site running? Well, sorry about that. I too wish I could get everything for free. But alas.....

    =====================

Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

Sick Beardie-I'm at a Loss

I think there is a very large cool side compared to a smaller basking area. Try getting a temp readin in the middle of the cage then go to the cooler side.
Looking at it i think you have a vast cool side compared to a smaller hot spot. also explaining why she never leaves the hot side. you could even split that cage into a two part section.

k 87 in the middle. seriously i could split it? everything i've read so far is screaming 4' enclosure, 80 cool side, 105 basking side.
don't get me wrong, if i can put in a partition and another basking bulb and get another beardie in there(assuming her fecals come back negative on monday, she's acting like the meds worked for sure) that'd be sweet.
at what point though do i need to remove the partition and open up the whole space?
the other consideration is that the other two cages are set up pretty much the same, and the beardies in those two a thriving, heck the one is only a week older but 20 grams heavier and 2 inches longer.

4 foot cages are more for adults. Atleast that what mine are. my babies cages are 3'x2'x13" And i can house 20 babies comfortably in them. I have 4 10 inch juvies in one and its plenty of room. What you need to make sure of that the cage offers a hot spot and a cool spot. but you dont need all that extra cage room until there adults. thats when they need a large area for hot and cool spots.

here's a pic of the other cages, same size, dragons are all within a month of each other, i have three boamaster cages comin...they're gonna be 3 footers. and i already have the dragons for them, but i didn't want to have em shipped to me until i get yahzi back in shape, or at least paisite free.

what about males and females, do you house them together as juvies? i have two of em together, but they're within 3 grams(39 and 36) of each other and both female. what about nips...you don't have any problems with nips?

I house males and females unitl you can see that the male is starting to get aggressive and becoming sexually mature then they get separated.
As far as nips my babies are heavily fed. Most ppl who havent gotten animals from me say how they eat right outta the box. A happy full dragon is just that. most of the time nips are from under fed dragons. BUT you will have some of the more aggressive babies that nip cause there little :censored:. So they get separated!

so is everyone else on page with that? either partition off the cage for littler dragons or house more together until they are older?

I agree on the reducing the size of the cage. I keep my babies in tubs 3x18x10 or i keep them in 4x2x15 enclosures when i have 20 or more from the same clutch. with two basking sides in the cage. The fewer the babies i have the smaller the enclosure i use.

yahzi is doin better, she held down the 3 dubias from sunday, and she pounced the crickets i offered, i gave her 4 for today. hopefully i get a stool from her soon so i can get it tested just to make sure her meds worked. she's all head up and attentive, better than she's looked since i got her. i gave her a dose of acidphiliz this morning. assuming everything goes well (stuff out the back end, not the front) i'll double her food, half in the mornin, half after work. then i'm thinkin keep increasing her food as the week progresses until she's getting full?

I wouldnt be so fast to up his food. Take it slow and let him keep his appetite. give it more than a week.

roger wilco... say four crickets a day? 2 in the morning, 2 in afternoon?

Maybe to light,

Since its been a few days how's its appetite? I would do greens, ( i dont care if he eats them or not just offer)
Then 4 smaller crix, (1/2 inch.) then try 3-4 in the evening. If he's not eating his greens now and you notice in a few days him pecking at them means he's def. gettin his appetite back and then you may want to consider up-ing his diet

she's on point when i'm dusting the crickets like the rest of my clan now. i've been tossing her one at a time and she just pounces. today i gave her 3 in the mornin, then 2 this afternoon(5:30pm) finally got a stool from her, then totally forgot to keep it to take to the vet for a follow up test to make sure she's bug free, duh. i'll have ta remember tomorrow, i'm not real interested in diggin through my trash can playin detective...which one was hers...ya right lol.
i'm just stoked though, these last few days are the best i've seen her. I will take it slow though on upping her food, i'd hate for her to go back to how she was a week ago!

hey not sure if i posted this b4 but thank you guys so much! For ya'll to step up and help out takes alot of character and selflessness. I know you guys have been at raising beardies for years and have prolly had to figure a lot of this out the hard way. So again thank you, and know that i will totally be helpin out the next guy that needs it. Ya'll make the world a better place.

I have found that when OP's needing help with their animals post their pictures and temps (evidence) those trying to help are able to "see" more easily possible issues and what needs to be done. On the forum which I mod, I hate having to give advice blind.

Glad to see that your issue was resolved..GREAT NEWS..it's all about the animals. :)

Glad your beardie is doing better! I'm had both my female hypos do the same thing Minus the regurgitation, but they were about 8months old when they did it and considerably larger than your baby. Fecals were clean also...
Now they eat like cows.
I'm pinning it on growing pains. :p
