Why do you keep snakes?: I have a love for snakes and a huge fascination with them, Others say I'm obsessed with them.
What other animals do you have?: A cat named Duster.
What other hobbies do you enjoy?: Herping!!! Horseback riding, hunting, fishing, and anything that keeps me busy.
Anything else to add?: I'm from a very small town and it’s hard to find others around here who understand my passion for snakes.

Why do you keep snakes?: I have always had an interest with reptiles/amphibians in general, but snakes especially.
What other animals do you have?: 3 dogs, 2 cats, 2 rats, 2 Red-eared sliders.
What other hobbies do you enjoy?: Chess, hiking, fishing/canoeing, beer, cigars.
Anything else to add?: I meet enough people in a day that think I'm weird for owning snakes, but when I look at their dog all dressed up in a pink dress...I worry about them.

I live in Madison, but I've had a hard time finding people here who like snakes, too. I filled out information at a reptile show here for folks interested in joining a herp club, but it hasn't started up yet. My friend Marcia is the only person I know that really likes snakes. Perhaps you could start a club of your own and advertise it at libraries, online, newspaper, etc? Just thinkin'.

What snakes do you own?: Right now I only have ball pythons....but I've owned many different kinds in the past

Why do you keep snakes?: I've always loved nature and animals. I broke my arm when I was four and my parents asked if there was anything I REEEALLY wanted, and I said a snake.

What other animals do you have?: Big dogs, cats, a ferret, tarantulas, bearded dragons, snakes, soon more bearded dragons and savannah monitors.....I've REALLY cut back. I used to have huge terrariums filled with different frogs and lizards. I've also owned birds, hamsters, rats, mice, tons of different kinds of insects, guinea pigs, rabbits, scorpions, and I'm sure I'm missing some things.

What other hobbies do you enjoy?: I love growing orchids and spending time outside in the shade house with them, gardening, cooking, getting tattoos & piercings, playing on the xbox, camping, going to the beach, running, music, soccer, building stuff.....I love trying new things

Why do you keep snakes?: I developed a fascination with them when my step-father killed one and I felt bad for it. I was 12.
What other animals do you have?: Currently 1 crazy cat, 1 mini terrier mix dog, 1 sulcata, 3 goats (Nigerian Dwarf) and 2 hens. In the market for zebu. Have previously owned dogs, savannahs, beardies, rabbits, ferrets, guinea pigs, pot-bellied pigs, birds.

What snakes do you own?: mostly corns but also a honduran milk snake, hog island boa, a brazilian rainbow boa, and a boa constrictor

Why do you keep snakes?: Becausse they're low matinence, you can have a lot without using up too much space or time, and they're very interesting creatures that I love to watch, hold, and learn about.

Why do you keep snakes?: Because now that I booted out the old man... I can. I have always loved them but my X hated them so I didn't have any for a long time. Used to keep garter snakes I would catch when I was a kid.

What other hobbies do you enjoy?: All things outdoors and on line RPG gaming into WoW right now.

I currently have: 1.2 Dumeril's boas, 1.1 normal cornsnakes, and 1.0 Coastal Rosy boa (my female resently died... )

I keep snakes because they are interesting animals that bring me daily enjoyment.

I have a Tokay gecko that absolutely loves me. We snuggle on the couch together and watch Friends re-runs.

I also have an Olde English Bulldog named Levi. If anyone ever hurt my dog, I would do horrible things to them.

I collect guns and knives. I love to play poker. I enjoy washing my Jeep and then getting it dirty again.

Why do you keep snakes?: i love them..i just cant get over how they move and feel.. how majestic they are and mysterious at that!

Why do you keep snakes?: They're living jewelry and they make me laugh! ( When my sand boa tickles my ear with her tongue that is! )
What other animals do you have?: You want the short list or the long? 6 cats, 3 in the house and 3 in the barn for rodent control. ( Better than rat poison any day! ) 1 adopted greyhound and 3 horses 1 of which is a registered, purebred breeding stallion
What other hobbies do you enjoy?:Historical re-enactment, equestrian sports, drawing, writing, beading, crafts and my animals.
Anything else to add?: I believe in responsible pet ownership. All my pets regularly see the vet, yes, even the snakes; are cleaned up after daily and fed quality food. I also believe educating the public about the creepy, crawly critters does a lot to alieviate the fear associated with such animals. All my snakes are non-poisonous, small and most can be handled by snake-phobic people AND have names! I choose to live a normal life as uniquely as possible.

Anything else to add?: I got into herps because of my grandmother. I worked in a pet shop and one day she came in and went to the reptile wall, I assumed she'd made snide comments about why anyone would want one. But instead she asked why didn't I have a reptile. I told her I wanted one, but being I lived with her at the time, didn't think I could have one. She pointed out a Nile Monitor and asked if I wanted a lizard like that, I said no. Then she asked about the beardies. I told her I liked them, but couldn't afford to buy one for a few weeks. She ended up buying it and the 40 gallon breeder tank, stand, and everything it needed. She told me when I fed it, to call her in the room, so she could watch. She LOVED Jinx. But NEVER touched her, lol.

Why do you keep snakes?: they arent as noisy and messy as dogs, cats, and birds, (I HATE BIRDS!!). They have such a wide array of colors and patterns, plus I love to see ppls faces when they hear I have snakes.

What other animals do you have?: Did have a cat but he was murdered...

What other hobbies do you enjoy?: camping, hunting, spring hopping ( jumping from spring to spring during a few weeks outta the summer across the state), "Extra curricular activities" (Did it just get foggy in here?)
