• In the past two days I have gotten emails asking about being requested to provide credit card info in order to register and also to make a post in the classifieds forums. PLEASE NOTE: In no instance will this site ask you for this sort of information. The only time any request for payment is made is if you choose to opt-in for a higher membership level, and that is done SOLELY through PayPal. Anything else is coming from a source other than this site. My guess is that this is coming through Google Adsense, but when I can get someone to send me a screen shot of this sort of request, I will know more.
  • Responding to email notices you receive.
    **************************************************
In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

    Posting photos as file attachments

After due consideration and running this through my un-artificial intelligence module sitting on my shoulders, I have made the following changes concerning uploading attachments. Attachments: Registered members - 2 attachments @ 500KB each Contributor level members - 4 attachments @ 1MB each...

    Posting photos as file attachments

I checked and the maximum file size limit for any attachment is 1 megabyte. A total of 4 attachments are allowed per single post. Sorry, but I do have to implement flood controls to keep malicious parties from trying to cause issues with excessive file sizes. If this is not enough, throw some...

Why are there so many scammers in the classifieds???

I am really, really sorry that you want to live in a world that is chock full of rubber baby buggy bumpers to keep you safe and and protected from poor choices. But unfortunately, it is not. You need to do your own due diligence in choosing who to do business with and stop demanding that...

    Happy Fourth of July, 2026

Hope everyone had a nice day for the fourth. I actually wound up going with a friend of mine to Apalachicola, FL to see the fireworks display they put on this July 3rd (Friday). It was actually really decent and well worth going to. What's not to like watching fireworks anyway?

Remember rec.pets.herp? Man, that was a LONG time ago, and most likely my memory fails me, but I thought that was a free service? As long as you had a 300 baud modem and a local dial-in you could access any of the groups there. At that time places like the NRA had dial-in groups that were free...

    Sanibel Island, FL

Out of the month, there were only about 5 days where shell collecting was really good. At first I thought we were going to get skunked. But those 5 days were REALLY good for collecting decent shells.

    Sanibel Island, FL

Spent the month of May on Sanibel Island with Pim. Was a pretty good time, but the water wasn't as clear as I would have liked it. Storms blew lots of seaweed in as well as got the water pretty disturbed. So no snorkeling again this year. Yeah, I know. Taking a vacation from being retired...

    Lifetime warranty

Interesting thought. Perhaps if I get a diagnosis of cancer I will have to sit down and think if there are any old scores I need to settle. :devilish:

    Alpha-gal syndrome (AGS)

Hmm, not really sold on that acupuncture thing. I guess it is something I would have to experience myself, but for some reason, just not jumping at the chance to have someone jabbing needles into me. :D

    About the war with Iran.....

Anyone who gives money to Iran under any circumstances is just nuts. Only an idiot would not realize that they will use the money to strengthen their military. Regardless of what they agree to beforehand.

The thing is, in my opinion, Facebook REALLY sucks for holding lengthy and detailed discussions. I will get notices of replies made to posts I have made here and there on Facebook pages, but when I click on the links, I really have to search to find where those replies are located. Maybe it is...

I am betting I could delete every forum here except the classifieds and 90 percent of the people who still come here would not even notice. After having some experience on Facebook, I can see the draw of Facebook and the stark contrast with this site. Participation. Plain and simple. No one...

Apalachicola National Forest, Franklin County Florida

Give me a ring sometime if you are in the area. Wish I could recommend some herping spots for you, but I never did spend much time in the field after I moved here. And by the time I had the time, I had lost the incentive. But would be fun just to kick about in the woods again for a while. Oh, I...
