    In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

Alpha-gal syndrome (AGS) is a serious, potentially life-threatening allergic condition triggered by a tick bite. Also known as "red meat allergy," it develops when a tick bite transmits a sugar molecule called alpha-gal into the body, causing the immune system to overreact to mammalian meat and dairy products. Causes
  • The Trigger: The allergy is primarily linked to the bite of the Lone Star tick (found widely across the U.S.), though other tick species worldwide can also carry the molecule.
  • The Mechanism: Alpha-gal (galactose-\(\alpha \)-1,3-galactose) is a sugar molecule found in most mammals but not in humans. Common Symptoms & Delayed Reaction
Unlike traditional food allergies that strike immediately, AGS reactions are typically delayed by 2 to 6 hours after exposure. Symptoms can vary widely from mild discomfort to anaphylaxis and include: [1]

  • Swelling of the lips, face, tongue, or throat
  • Wheezing or shortness of breath
  • Gastrointestinal issues: stomach pain, diarrhea, nausea, or vomiting

Exposures to Avoid

Yes I have heard of it. There are some people who claimed that after acupuncture it was either cured or the effects mitigated.
 
Hmm, not really sold on that acupuncture thing. I guess it is something I would have to experience myself, but for some reason, just not jumping at the chance to have someone jabbing needles into me. :D
