• In case most of you have not noticed, I made changes to the donation amounts as well as the durations for all of the paid membership levels. Things are winding down here, and this seems to be the most prudent way to deal with the "end of life" period of this site.

Contributor level members - $10 per 30 days
    Sponsors - Eliminated
Benefactor level members - $25 per 30 days
Endowment level members - $50 per 30 days

  • Responding to email notices you receive.
    **************************************************
In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

How to become a paying member of FaunaClassifieds (revised edition)

Yes. I considered Apple Pay but I would have to buy an Apple product in order to do that. Not enough financial incentive here for me to do that.

Well, natural selection tends to favor the animals that best blend into the surrounding landscape. So I would guess that could be an influencing factor.

Reached an epiphany in life today

With everything going on, in a micro and macro level, I reached a telling epiphany today. I have come to appreciate bitter old men. I understand what made them that way. I understand that life can just gang up on you leaving you no recourse but to just hate every waking moment. To not give a...

You probably need to take this up with the moderator who suspended you. I was not involved in that process.

    Viewing ads?

Well here is a deal for everyone. If enough members become paying members to where it is feasible for me to drop the Google Adsense ads completely, then I am willing to do that. But this puts the ball squarely in YOUR court. I would have to see a consistent increase in paid memberships over the...

    Posting photos as file attachments

After due consideration and running this through my un-artificial intelligence module sitting on my shoulders, I have made the following changes concerning uploading attachments. Attachments: Registered members - 2 attachments @ 500KB each Contributor level members - 4 attachments @ 1MB each...

    Posting photos as file attachments

I checked and the maximum file size limit for any attachment is 1 megabyte. A total of 4 attachments are allowed per single post. Sorry, but I do have to implement flood controls to keep malicious parties from trying to cause issues with excessive file sizes. If this is not enough, throw some...

Why are there so many scammers in the classifieds???

I am really, really sorry that you want to live in a world that is chock full of rubber baby buggy bumpers to keep you safe and and protected from poor choices. But unfortunately, it is not. You need to do your own due diligence in choosing who to do business with and stop demanding that...

    Happy Fourth of July, 2026

Hope everyone had a nice day for the fourth. I actually wound up going with a friend of mine to Apalachicola, FL to see the fireworks display they put on this July 3rd (Friday). It was actually really decent and well worth going to. What's not to like watching fireworks anyway?

    You are still here?

Remember rec.pets.herp? Man, that was a LONG time ago, and most likely my memory fails me, but I thought that was a free service? As long as you had a 300 baud modem and a local dial-in you could access any of the groups there. At that time places like the NRA had dial-in groups that were free...

    Sanibel Island, FL

Out of the month, there were only about 5 days where shell collecting was really good. At first I thought we were going to get skunked. But those 5 days were REALLY good for collecting decent shells.

    Sanibel Island, FL

Spent the month of May on Sanibel Island with Pim. Was a pretty good time, but the water wasn't as clear as I would have liked it. Storms blew lots of seaweed in as well as got the water pretty disturbed. So no snorkeling again this year. Yeah, I know. Taking a vacation from being retired...

Hmm, not really sold on that acupuncture thing. I guess it is something I would have to experience myself, but for some reason, just not jumping at the chance to have someone jabbing needles into me. :D
