• Responding to email notices you receive.
    **************************************************
In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

Yeah, I know. They are a pain in the butt. But they pay the bills to keep my server running. Just a fact of life, I am afraid.

Want to get rid of them? Simple. Just become a Contributor level member or above and they will be gone. -> Please click HERE."

Is that too much for me to ask of you to keep this site running? Well, sorry about that. I too wish I could get everything for free. But alas.....

    =====================

Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

    Need admin help please

Hi. Sorry, but I was trying to post evidence on the Ashtyn Rance thread, and I accidently posted a screenshot of a big chunk of the facebook forum, most of which has nothing to do with Ashtyn. Any possibility we can get rid of that and I'll try again? Thanks!!!!!

    General genetics question

Something that has come up many times on my facebook forums are ads for 100% Hets. I'm a gecko person, so BP folks cut me some slack here. I own one single pet BP; it is black, brown, and yellow. I digress. For a trait that is recessive (and not visible in a het), say albinism in green...

    Good Guy Yaisel Voisk Rodriquez

I know the rules about adding to existing threads, but the current thread has gotten a bit convoluted, and does not reflect my experience. I ordered a pair of agamas, and with great communication and prompt service, they arrived in perfect health the next day. I would certainly do business...

    Inbox Viewer?

Probably an extremely stupid question, but I've been there before. When I open Fauna, there's a banner that says I have to install a new 'inbox viewer' to view any new private messages. This is just spam, right? Has there been any actual change to the pm system here? Thanks! Noelle

    Inquiry Tortoise Universe??

Anyone heard of Tortoise Universe? tortoiseuv.webs.com The website is well organized, with prices in USD, but at no point is there any mention of location. It has the markings of a well-made Cameroon deal, but it never hurts to ask. They won't provide photos of actual animals, so I wouldn't...

BURKESVILLE, Ky. May 1, 2013 (AP) Authorities in southern Kentucky say a 2-year-old girl has been accidentally shot and killed by her 5-year-old brother, who was playing with a .22-caliber rifle he received as a gift. Kentucky State Police said the toddler was shot just after 1 p.m. CDT...

    Incoming: Dead mice

So, the US government, in its infinite reptile wisdom, is dropping Tylenol-stuffed dead mice into Guam to eradicate the brown snakes. Their reasoning is that other snakes won't eat dead prey, and the little chutes will get stuck in trees, keeping the dead mice off limits to most other animals. I...

    Impending blizzard

To all our friends in New England, please stay safe in the coming storm. They say you'll get around 2 feet of snow. I can't even imagine how St. Louis would panic if we had 2 feet of snow coming! Hoping everyone and their animals come through this unscathed! Noelle

    The future of heat lamps?

This has probably been discussed already, but I've missed it. With the phasing out of incandescent bulbs, does anyone know the future of heat lamps for herps? I know there's always ceramic and mercury vapor, but will anyone be manufacturing plain old basking bulbs? Noelle

    Leo morph help please!

    What are you doing today?

This is a question for those of you with "I don't know how many; I'd have to count" animals.
