Question can corns double clutch without being re-bred?

So I was feeding today, and both my female corns refused -- something they have neither ever done except between post lay shed and laying. So I pulled them each out and took a close look, and I'll be darned if they don't both look and feel heavily gravid again.

Only problem is, I never rebred them, neither has been with a male since 3/26 and 3/28 respectively. I wanted to put some more weight on them before going for a double. They laid 4/28 and 5/1, respectively -- so about six weeks ago. I popped nest boxes back in, and sure enough, they are both rooting around in them.

Is this even possible? I know a lot of species can retain sperm, I am used to it in cresties, and hear that balls do it. But can corn snakes?

Thanks for any input, I am baffled!

Yes they can, it happens quite often. More then you would think.

Oh good! Glad to know I'm not going crazy then I was hoping to give 'em a bit more of a break, but if they're feeling good enough to lay again, I'm not gonna complain!

Yes they can, just after feed them back up gradually so they can put weight back on at an even rate to rebuild there bodys. They should be fine, just watch what comes out of the next batch. some of the eggs may not be fertile. Good luck I hope they all develope well.

She did it Laid 13 eggs for me yesterday -- 12 clearly good, 1 may be a slug. Her first clutch was 14, so not too shabby! They don't look as "nice" as the first batch, she did it and seems none the worse for the wear!

I have females double clutch all the time without being reintroduced to a male. I had one this year who's first clutch was half slugs lay a second clutch with 100% fertility and was never reintroduced to a male.
