Also your TRUE location is important. If the location you enter in your profile field does not match the location of your registration IP address, then your registration will be rejected. As such, I strongly urge registrants to avoid using a VPN service to register, as they are often used by spammers and scammers, and as such will be blocked when discovered when auditing new registrations.
Sorry about all these hoops to jump through, but I am quite serious about blocking spammers and scammers at the gate on this site and am doing the very best that I can to that effect. Trust me, I would rather be doing more interesting things with my time, and wouldn't be making this effort if I didn't think it was worthwhile.

Okay so I found the function but am not understanding the use. So heat tape is at 95, hot spot 90. So for example if I want my hot spot at 90, I set the therm to 95, with the probe on the tape. Use sensor match and set it for - 5 so the therm reads 90? What does it matter if it reads 90 or 95 if the temps aren't changing on the hot spot? Forgive me if I'm way off, just got the herpstat 2 wks ago.

It's just for a false sense of security, but yes, your example sounds correct. You do have to recalibrate if the room changes temps during a seasonal transistion.

Yes, I just moved to Texas from Pennsylvania and am interested in what I will have to set my herpstat at this summer since it gets so hot. A little playing around with and I'll get it.
