Unfamiliar Terminology

New to the reptile scene, I wonder about one question I see in many ads...
What does a "HOLDBACK" mean? Any help is appreciated! Thanks in advance!

Holdback refers to the breeder "was" going to hold back a certain specimen for themselves.

Ok great! I don't why I thought they were the "unwated" of the litter.

Sometimes there is the one or two with a certain pattern or color that though possibly not genetic would be the one picked out first. Being the breeder you obviously have the pick of the litter and would want to keep the better looking ones for yourself.

Yes, that is true. Well, Eddie Holtz just sold me a pair of his "holdbacks" and their beautiful! I'll post pix as soon as I get them (tomorrow morning) and as soon as my 2 year old lets me get on the computer! *LOL* So I should expect a pair of beautiful "pick-of-the-litter" BCI's! Now that's EXCITING STUFF!!!
