Real problems on shows now or soon if
it goes this way. This thread was removed from you know where web-site and for what reason i don't know, but anyway some of you know or don't know that the herpetologist and wildlife folks has been semi-busy working on re-classifying family and genus of reptiles. If done as to grouping species and sub-species to the original native species of certain states, it will be un-lawful to sell any morph as well. It has happened to Missouri already and California > ? This has been done to the rat snake family. The pit group is being consider as all tri-colors not to mention the kingsnake family. Here is the deal of Missouri already : you cannot legally sale to a non-class 11 permit holder a native species of bull snake. In turn you cannot legally sell a morph say an albino because it is still a pituophis sayi. If the regrouping or change of named family goes to just recognize scientific name under pituophis and all is grouped as such > genus, species, subspecies, the bull snake, gopher snake and pine snake could possibly be against the Missouri law to sell. At least the way I understand it ! Because they are all pituophis by classification and by genus a native species. So if I am right, could this even effect hybrids down the road and how about the Missouri emoryi being the base species for many hybrids on the market................ ?
