Incubation v. parent raised

For snakes like pythons that coil up around their eggs, do y'all let the mom incubate them, or do you take them and put them in a commercial incubator?

both work

and both methods are used successfully. I use an incubator because it gives me better control of the temp and humidity, plus you can often get the Mom feeding much sooner so it is easier on her (physically anyway).

I agree with Casey, I incubate all of mine because it just seems easier on the mom. I have been very tempted to let one try hatching them herself just for the wonder of watching her do it.....I have one female that is a first-timer this year, and seems to never stop eating for any reason. I think I'll see how she does after she lays this year, and if she goes right back on feed and fattens up, I may think about letting her try it next year.

I'm going with mom incubating this time with one clutch to see how it goes. The other 2 will be in the incubator.
