Yeah, earlier this year I jumped all over someone selling an 8ft+ albino Burmese on Ebay. The seller wanted $1000 for him too!

Without having seen the Ebay listing I would say that the chances are equally good that the seller was told by someone else (a ball python breeder perhaps) that the snake was het for mojave. People buy snakes for many reasons, only one of which is for the fancy morphs. This might have simply been someone who was intentionally (or unintentionally) misinformed by the person he bought the snake from. I know if I were an unscrupulous dealer I could tell any of my customers that any of my snakes were het for anything I wanted them to be. Most of them would not know the difference, or the significance, and most of them probably would not even care. If and when these people tried to get rid of the snake they would have no reason not to tell any prospective buyer that the snake was het for whatever trait I told them it was het for. It's not their fault and not everyone is so caught up in the morph thing that they would even have a reason to check up on it.

Which would be why I sent the seller a polite email explaining exactly why he was either ignorant, had been taken advantage of, or was trying to take advantage of someone else when I saw the ad....and that animal sales are prohibited on Ebay. Then I reported it too Ebay for removal.
