OK, regarding the Pledge of Allegiance

It is a pledge. It is a political indoctrination tool for USAmerican youth. You know, so their "allegiance" is to the USA. It is not even true. There absolutely IS NOT justice for all.

Ever notice that "spell check" doesn't check anything in the title?

God made the jelly-like mass evolve.

I agree with that which is to say that the pledge in its entirety is not perfect just as anything else isnt
But if more people practice the idea behind it it would be a little better

I think its good to add more knowledge to school curriculums but not at the expense of others
If a vote passes(which im sure is coming)that i dont like then i will either abide by it or put my children in another school

The concept Creation ex nihilo (creation out of nothing) was proposed in the 13th century. It's a concept completely alien to the book of Genesis and the beliefs of the people who lived in early Biblical times. This is apparent not only in the texts we have available (I'm not talking about the translated scripts), but also our understanding of what people generally believed in the Ancient Near East. If you look at origin stories from other civilizations such as ancient Egypt or Mesopotamia, you'll notice that a common characteristic is that a "head god" organizes a mass of chaos. There is no spontaneous creation of something that wasn't there. Everything is already there until someone comes around and puts it into order. Similarly, in the book of Genesis, nowhere does the text talk about God creating the world out of nothing. It says that there was a mass of disorder that he organized.

Olivia, perhaps you've missed some of the recent "fun" that dennis the troll has been having around here.

Some of us have decided to stop feeding him and ask that others do the same.

Thanks
