Help!!! Eggs came early, no incubator!!

OK, so I thought I had another month to go but apparently I missed the REAL ovulation because Here I am just getting off work and I have eggs!!! I was actually going to order an incubator next week, but I guess that won't work. What should I do? Is there a way to make a quick, safe incubator?? This is my first season so I'm kind of bugging out now! Please help!!!

I just wanted to add that she dug down in the substrate and laid them right on top of the UTH, do you think the eggs on the bottom will be ok?

Get started on your incubator NOW. You won't have much time to test it much, but you got to deal with what you have. For the time being, leave the eggs with the mother. They'll be fine.

As far as the UTH goes, of course you have a tstat making sure that the spot above it doesn't get hotter than 90. If not, do so immediately.

I agree... mom will take care of them for a while so get the incubator made and test it for a couple of days before you put the eggs in there. Also something I learned this year was to put the thermometer in the tub with the eggs and not just in the incubator. It may be warmer in the tub especially when the eggs develop more, they will start to put out their own heat a little. I would set it around 87-88 degrees. Good luck!
