Why are you so desperate to get rid of him?

Also, who produced him? maybe they would know his genetics and whether or not he is a leather.

he himself is NOT a leather. ive been told though that since both his parents are leather he can produce leather babies. and i need the room And $ for more females.

yes if he is not a leather but both his parents were he is a carrier of the leatherback trait. This means his babies have a 0% chance of being leathers if he is mated with a female that is not a carrier for the leatherback trait. he has a 25% chance of having leather off spring if he is mated with a carrier of the leather trait. If he is mated with a leather there is a 50% chance of his off spring being leather backs.

Not if the parents were codominant leathers. If they were recessive leathers, then he carries the trait. If they were codominant leathers, then he does not carry the trait and will not pass it on.

There are two different strains of leatherback- codominant and recessive. If both parents were codom leathers, then this guy would be a leatherback as well if he carried the gene. If both parents were recessive leathers, then this guy would be a leatherback as well as a homozygous recessive breeding can only produce more homozygous recessives.

You might want to ask the breeders to be more specific about his lineage. Maybe one parent was a recessive leatherback and one was a normal scaled dragon? That would the only way he could carry the trait (at least at 100%) but not actually express it.

He's a good looking dragon and I wish you luck with the sale.

Yes the recessives r the American leatherbacks or smoothies and the codominant are the Italian leatherbacks totally different lineage so the only way to check is to contact the breeder
