Asian water monitor

Hello everyone,

I am a new member referred by my rodent dealer. I have a 4 year old Varanus Salvator I am looking to find a new home for. When she was younger I posted several pictures on another monitor forum and I was told it was a female, however I am far from an expert on sexing reptiles. I have had her since she was 15" total length, she is now reaching the 7' mark. I currently house her in an 8'x'4'x4' enclosure and as you can imagine, she needs a larger home now. She is pretty mellow for the most part. She has almost never been handled since I acquired her. She does not run, hiss, or puff up when you come into the room, however sometimes she is shy. If you hang out long enough during her shy moments, she will eventually come to check you out and be social. She is ready for the next step in husbandry as far as starting to remove her from her enclosure, however I do not have the adequate resources to do so anymore. I had to go back home with my parents about 2 years ago and she has pretty much stayed in her enclosure non stop. I used to create an area outside her door that she could come out and get used to my presence but I don't have that room at home. Her diet is jumbo rats(dead) and once in a while she gets ground turkey with Calcium and D3. I feed her regularly, her temps maintain 80 degrees(f) ambient temps with a basking spot of 125 degrees(f) on a wooden plank, she has water at her disposal which I change every few days. Her cage is very bare, one hide spot, but she is in the garage without much human contact at all except for when I come to socialize with her or feed her. I have been trying to find a new home for her on Craigslist but I have not felt comfortable with any of the people that have responded. Long story short, if you are interested or know someone that may be, please feel free to PM me. I have more pictures on my phone, I am currently on a work computer and don't have access to them now. Also, I am in northern California, I will not ship her so please no out of state offers unless you plan on picking her up somehow.
