Talking Raising drys naturally?

Hi all, I was just wondering if there are any Indigo owners out there, that currently or in the past have raised their snakes outdoors? I know that this does present problems as far as the snake escaping or some a--hole jumping your fence and stealing a snake, but the outdoor environment would seem to be conducive to a happy, healthy snake, even in the northeast states there is probably a three or four month window that would have the proper temps to be healthy for easterns since they can stand cool temps. You can always give them a heated hide box incase it gets cool and a buried box with a tunnel ( sorta like a gopher tortise burrow ) incase it gets hot. Just a thought.

Yep, but no longer!

Once upon a time I did, though not in recent years. While I do give all of my Drymarchon regular access to the outdoors, I no longer maintain outdoor enclosures, as such tend to attract insect pests, predators and thieves.
Also, I have not noticed any difference regarding activity levels or reproduction when comparing those I maintained outdoors exclusively and those I keep indoors, but allow regular access to the outdoors...

Best regards,

Jeff Snodgres
