Please note that the information requested during registration will be used to determine your legitimacy as a participant of this site. As such, any information you provide that is determined to be false, inaccurate, misleading, or highly suspicious will result in your registration being rejected. This is designed to try to discourage as much as possible those spammers and scammers that tend to plague sites of this nature, to the detriment of all the legitimate members trying to enjoy the features this site provides for them.
Of particular importance is the REQUIREMENT that you provide your REAL full name upon registering. Sorry, but this is not like other sites where anonymity is more the rule.
Also your TRUE location is important. If the location you enter in your profile field does not match the location of your registration IP address, then your registration will be rejected. As such, I strongly urge registrants to avoid using a VPN service to register, as they are often used by spammers and scammers, and as such will be blocked when discovered when auditing new registrations.
Sorry about all these hoops to jump through, but I am quite serious about blocking spammers and scammers at the gate on this site and am doing the very best that I can to that effect. Trust me, I would rather be doing more interesting things with my time, and wouldn't be making this effort if I didn't think it was worthwhile.

BAH-1000 Good?
Hi, I was wondering if anyone has had any experience with the BAH-1000 thermostats from Big Apple Herp? I would use it for a rack system.
Thanks for the help.

I have one, had no issues with it for the year I have been using it. I am only using it for 4' of 3" heat tape also bought form Big Apple.

They are perfect for controlling the heat on bug colonies.. Oher than that I would not recommend you using them on your animals unless you want to kill them....

Come on Matt. Don't you think that your being overly dramatic there? If I were you, being a seller of thermostats in direct competition with Big Apples stat, I would refrain from mud slinging. You just end up getting mud on yourself. Do you have any provable examples of dead herps due to a Big Apple stat? What do the SCR units of the stats you sell look like? I know of at least one large breeder who uses Big Apples as his incubator stat for ALL of his projects. Matter of fact, you buy from him.

Matt, I have to apologize. I shot my mouth off and didn't realize which
Big Apple unit you were refering too. I thought you were refering too their Herp Power proportional stat. I agree with you. I wouldn't trust the BAH-1000 for much of anything either!
Sorry Buddy

Hey, I had an Alife on my fist home made incubator. An old converted freezer, and I had no problems with it......
That does not mean I would do it again though......

I'm glad you posted pictures of the Johnsons and the Ranco. I thought "what the heck is he posting pictures of two on/off stats to compare too a proportional stat for?" then it dawned on me that I might be in the wrong ball park!
Lucky for me or I would have rambled my way into more dumb assizm.
