Off feed ?

Will balls always go off feed in the winter, regardless of temp? I have a couple sub-adults and juvies that I would like to keep on feed over the winter. I don't plan on cooling them, but if they are going to stop feeding regardless than I might as well let them slow their metabolisms a bit.

Some may slow down or go off feed completely, but most wont. Particularly captive bred balls.

If the temps don't drop i wouldn't think they would go off feed. My ball feed all through the winter.

Mine don't have a particular schediule to go off-feed. Some will do it during the winter some in the middle of the summer. The only pattern I've been able to follow is that when they have gained enough body condition they quit eating. Then again not all (!) some are pigs and will continue to eat. In short they are unpredictable.
