Effective today I am removing a couple of options in the Paid Subscription plans for members:
- Participant Level Membership ($10 per year) - this was originally set up specifically for the "paid membership" requirement to post on the BOI as a form of verification of identity. This was hoped to, of course, increase the level of credibility in the postings in that section. Since that requirement has been rescinded, and credibility no longer an issue, this level of membership is no longer needed.
- Personal Member Forums - This never really did take off, and in one instance actually caused me some heartburn in the method with which the member decided to utilize their forum. As such, I can't see any reason to clutter up this site with that section.
All current subscribers of the above subscription plans will still keep that level membership until the date that their time runs out on it. At that time, they will no longer be able to renew the subscription.
This is all being done in an effort to simplify things around here and remove some clutter. Some discussion forums will likely be combined into a single larger forum for ease of maintenance in like fashion.
The HELL forum will likely be removed as well, depending on how things go concerning the current subscribers there. 59 members have paid for a subscription there and some have not renewed. Understandable. But when the ratio drops to 50 percent current subscriptions, that option for renewals or new subscriptions will end, and as soon as the current subscriptions run out, the forum itself will have to be dealt with somehow.
