Hello!
Either you have not registered on this site yet, or you are registered but have not logged in. In either case, you will not be able to use the full functionality of this site until you have registered, and then logged in after your registration has been approved.
Registration is FREE, so please register so you can participate instead of remaining a lurker....
Please note that the information requested during registration will be used to determine your legitimacy as a participant of this site. As such, any information you provide that is determined to be false, inaccurate, misleading, or highly suspicious will result in your registration being rejected. This is designed to try to discourage as much as possible those spammers and scammers that tend to plague sites of this nature, to the detriment of all the legitimate members trying to enjoy the features this site provides for them.
Of particular importance is the REQUIREMENT that you provide your REAL full name upon registering. Sorry, but this is not like other sites where anonymity is more the rule.
Also your TRUE location is important. If the location you enter in your profile field does not match the location of your registration IP address, then your registration will be rejected. As such, I strongly urge registrants to avoid using a VPN service to register, as they are often used by spammers and scammers, and as such will be blocked when discovered when auditing new registrations.
Sorry about all these hoops to jump through, but I am quite serious about blocking spammers and scammers at the gate on this site and am doing the very best that I can to that effect. Trust me, I would rather be doing more interesting things with my time, and wouldn't be making this effort if I didn't think it was worthwhile.

Firefox Portable Rocks!
Im playing with my new little firefox Portable. Its just sitting here on a 64mb flash drive that Gordon got me yesterday and set all up for me. ( i just had to import my bookmarks and passwords) <3
I was complaining the other day because i had tried to log on to fauna here, and then Ball Python Forums ( had to make new accounts to ATTEMPT getting on.... yeah, im lame i know) and, like ALWAYS i forget my passwords ( i have about ten different ones that ive changed to over the years... so , i forget which is which, and then some require numbers and some dont, and some are case sensitive... and RRR it just sucks!!!!) and then it said here that i cannot log back in because of trying 5 times too many, so regardless if i made another account here, i couldnt log on anyway for 15 minutes. ( i really should just make everything ONE password, but that would take time... and im lazy when firefox remembers them all for me, its rare im at someone else computer...)
So now, i NEVER have to worry about that stuff again! I just take everything with me! and Peace is with my little world again! MUAAAHAHAHAHA!
Okay im done.... :P

They still make 64MB thumb drives? I picked up a 2gig a month ago for 20 bucks, tell Gordon to get with the program lol.
Anyway, Firefox portable is great, besides taking your passwords and bookmarks with you, it also leaves no traces of your activities on the host computer, which is handy as well.
If you do get a larger drive, there's a lot of programs being coded for portable now including Thunderbird, the email client companion to firefox.
Here's a site I used to download several portable programs I use regularly.

Yeah, it was just a quick fix for when i HAVE to get online. Most of the time, im able to use my desktop. So for what its worth, its pretty darn sweet as it.
Though, the temptation of adding on the extras would be nice.... would i be able to use the extensions such as the Gmail Manager? AdBlock and such? ( or colorful tabs? <3) Those would be pretty neat to have on there too....
Since you mentioned the adding the extra stuff, it reminds me of Bart PE ( bootable CD/DVD Operating system) You can add in all sorts of extra stuff and run your OS right off of the CD. Pretty sweet stuff.

Yes, all the normal firefox extensions work with the portable version, as long as the version you are using is high enough to support the extension in the first place.
One thing to keep in mind though, if you're letting firefox remember your passwords or other sensitive information be very careful since I assume you are not using an encrypted drive. Just don't lose it or all that info is readily accessible.

Even better is a program I just read about last month. I would have to look back to remember the details, but when the drive is plugged in it will make itself the boot drive and you can run your own copy of windows from the drive complete with your regular programs. It basically acts as a parasite on the host system using its RAM and CPU resources but not bothering with the native hard drive so there is no trace of your presence on the host once you disconnect the drive.

Yeah, ive got to encrypt the drive. maybe tonight. I would not be very happy if someone got a hold of my passwords that way, and actually, it would be pretty devastating.
wow... more nifty stuff. Ill have to ask gordon about that to see if he knows anything about it. Unfortunately for me, im no computer genius, he is, so i know probably basic basic stuff, or things hes told me. im learning, but i just dont have the patience to learn it all. ( or time rather )
So that thing basically does the same thing this flash drive does, just on a much more grand scale?
