In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

Yeah, I know. They are a pain in the butt. But they pay the bills to keep my server running. Just a fact of life, I am afraid.

Want to get rid of them? Simple. Just become a Contributor level member or above and they will be gone. -> Please click HERE."

Is that too much for me to ask of you to keep this site running? Well, sorry about that. I too wish I could get everything for free. But alas.....

    =====================

Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

I can't post as I am on my phone right now but I will tonight when I can upload and post. I will take her down for now and get her checked out. No. She was put in the wrong cage. They knew it was an anery just the wrong one. I'll take em home with me until I know for sure. I definitely don't want a bad rep over her so. As for the company I don't want to lose a do far good relationship over it. I'll talk to someone higher up tomorrow. As for now she's not up

That bump looks like a "type" of "nose Rub" . they get it from pushing on
a particular area in their cage

Then the scales do not become raw or disrupted but underneath the skin a
small problem occurs. Its not really an infection its more like a cyst occurs
(like a Sebaceous Cyst )
and that area underneath the skin fills up with keratin

Sebaceous Cyst
These cells form the wall of the cyst secrete a soft, yellowish substance called keratin which fills the cyst.

It needs to be lanced (small incision) and that keratin substance worked out
cleaned with Nolvasan & some triple antibiotic ointment rubbed on there

This is my best guess of what that bump is.

ok, here are the pics. took me a bit because for some reason iphoto won't pop up and recognize my iphone when i plug it in today? so i emailed them to myself on my phone and downloaded, saved and transferred...pain in the butt...but here they are.

Thanks for the input Larr. I think you're right. I made a little incision with a sterile needle and a tiny bit, less than a pin head, of what looks like sebaceous secretion came out. No other fluid or anything and the bump is still there but when you press it goes right down like its air in there. Put a touch of peroxide and some triple anti-biotic ointment on there and put her in a tub with no shavings. I'm sure she is fine, healthy overall.

Here's what who i talked to her about it said: "Really unlikely. Obvious signs go with infection. There is no abscess, no obvious signs of anything wrong. Plus, we have had those for a long time, not just weeks, or even a month, but many months. I would assume it is in perfect health. Let me know that it eats this week and digests normally. Should be great."

I have no problems believing what he told me. They have never screwed us and I honestly believe he wouldn't have sold this animal to us had there been any issues. It has eaten three times in my care and I will hold it until it has eaten three more times with no issues.

I would still take it to a vet. I had a similar issue with a snake I took in, Nero. His nose was lanced by my vet, and the material cultured. It had both gram negative, and gram positive bacteria, as well as aerobic and anaerobic bacteria. It took months of injections, keeping the wound open and flushing to clear the infection out, not to mention hundreds of dollars....

I can post before and after photos, if you'd like, and provide some vet records if you'd like to go back to your supplier with them, Megan
