In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

Yeah, I know. They are a pain in the butt. But they pay the bills to keep my server running. Just a fact of life, I am afraid.

Want to get rid of them? Simple. Just become a Contributor level member or above and they will be gone. -> Please click HERE."

Is that too much for me to ask of you to keep this site running? Well, sorry about that. I too wish I could get everything for free. But alas.....

    =====================

Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

I got 7 eggs this year from my black back female that everyone has seen a thousand times over the last 4 years. I always use this pic of her because it shows off that back perfectly. She was bred to her Cinny son from last year. I was attempting to prove some kind of genetic inheritance for the black back. That's been done. She's had 19 eggs now, and this is the first time she's produced any normal offspring that resembled her whatsoever. I'm a little confused though now on exactly what's going on since the male has a perfect black back too.

I consider his black back coming from being a Cinny, which naturally have a black back pattern. He was the only one out of 4 last year with this patterning. I want to say this has now been proven recessive, but it could also be phenotypic, couldn't it? Here are the parents:

The clutch.

I ended up with 3 males and 4 females. Which breaks down into 4 Cinnies and 3 Normals. All exhibiting some type of black back, but the normals are the ones that finally prove that she's genetic to some degree. If anyone has their own opinions what's going on, recessive, some sort of co-dom, phenotypic, please feel free to speculate. Here's the clutch hatching and the females:

More of the babies.

Here are the boys. The male Cinny is a perfect replica of his father:

Her other normal offspring.

Just to show how her other normal offspring have all looked compared to these 3 new ones. This is her first clutch from '05 and last year.

They look awesome.....congrats!!!!!!!

How far did you make it before you decided to cut them??

Very nice clutch indeed! But....y'all DO realize that the entire clutch could be breeders now since they were hatched in June...of '08??

Since this thread was brought back up after 2 years, I'd love to see what they look like today, assuming you held back a cinny or two!

Nice catch Matt, i didn't even realize that this thread was 2 years old, I too would love to see what they look like today.

Updated Photo's

Here are a couple of recent photo's of two of the female Cinnamons from this pairing.
The first two pics are of one of them, and she is in the start of a shed cycle.

The third and forth pics are of the other female, and she is obviously in deep shed.

They were both paired with my Lesser Pastel male this season, but I don't think either one of them took because they are still slamming food.

Wow, they sure did turn out nice! The bottom female looks just like her mom, only as a Cinny. Guess maybe I should have held onto the male to keep making them, but I still feel like that female has SOMETHING else going on. She was actually sold to me as a het albino but has never proven out yet, after plenty of opportunity to.

I have 6 of her eggs from this year in the incubator right now (with one of them getting moldy :( ) She was bred to a Fire and Genetic Granite YB, so at least I still have some options to work with...hoping the YB may unlock something. The unknown projects hold a certain type of fun that others that you know exactly what to expect from, just don't.

Thanks for the updated pics, Rob, nice to see them. And good luck with them. :)
