    In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

    Yeah, I know. They are a pain in the butt. But they pay the bills to keep my server running. Just a fact of life, I am afraid.

    Want to get rid of them? Simple. Just become a Contributor level member or above and they will be gone. -> Please click HERE."

    Is that too much for me to ask of you to keep this site running? Well, sorry about that. I too wish I could get everything for free. But alas.....

    =====================

    Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

I recently acquired a pair of Spilotes sulphureus, but learned soon after both animals are actually males. Given that my space is limited, I have made the difficult decision to part with one, to make space for a female to pair with the other male.

This animal was captive bred and born by Tom Davis, and hatched in 2011. He is currently approaching ten feet in length, and is a truly impressive animal that is defensive in cage, but surprisingly tractable in hand. I have yet to be bitten by him.

His coloration is a pleasing brown/beige, with black dorsal banding, a black tail, and a lovely pale stomach - in some high output UV lighting he has faint yellow banding. Though not as colorful as this species is known to be, he does carry the genetics of bright yellow and black, as well as yellow and green animals, as his siblings and parents have displayed such coloration.

Given his size, readiness, and due to the fact that he is captive bred and in perfect health, he would make an excellent breeder - and he seems eager to breed, as his behavior has indicated as much.

He is a strong feeder on frozen-thawed rats, quails, and chicks, and is absolutely flawless.

I'm asking $900 OBO, which is lower than the typical retail price of CBB hatchlings. This is a nearly unheard of opportunity to purchase an adult CBB specimen. That said, my priority is to find a good home for this snake, and I am very open to offers - please don't hesitate to ask.

Interested parties can contact me at [email protected], and I am happy to provide photographs and husbandry information. Given the rarity and sensitivity of this species, I would prefer to sell this snake to an experienced keeper of large colubrids.

Thank you for your time!
