    Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

I only have 3.3 100% het pieds left forsale. I have males available from 2 clutches and females available from 1 clutch.

It is a het pied pictured beside 2 pieds. The lower white pied is the male and the higher white pied is the female. The pieds were put in the pic to "prove" I did in fact own pieds (I have 2.1 pieds now). The classified was also from Oct 21 2003.

2005 Het Pied pricing is as follows.

100% het PIed males $350 US
100% het Pied females $1500 US
100% het Pied pairs $1750 US

Corey, thats a pretty big drop in price. Does that say anything about the pied market? What would you say its going to look like in a few years? I am definitely going to work with pastels regardless but I am considering either Albinos, Pieds or both. I am curious to know if you see the market bottoming out. Thanks!

The market for recessive traits is a lot more stable than the dominant/co-dominant mutations. The reason behind this is that the recessives are harder to produce than the dominant/co-dominant ones. Each year most mutations come down slightly to reflect the growing number of people producing the mutations. However, as the price drops the customer base increases as more people can afford them. You'll see this with every mutation (whether you like it or not).

As for the Pied market it is very stable. They came down a bit last year, however, I don't think they will come down that much (if all) this year. This should be the first year we see some pied crosses. Up until this year we haven't see any crosses involving the pieds and once people see what you can do with it (this goes for all mutations) the demand will go up if the cross looks appealing. I don't see how any of the crosses involving pieds won't be appealing.

Interesting stuff. I am still going to go ahead with a Pastel project but definitely want to get into pieds and albinos. Thanks for the info Corey!

My name is mark and I'd like to know if you have anymore female 100% het pieds left. I have an albino male and I'm a hobbyist, so I don't know what I'll be getting if I was to breed my male with one of your female pied hets. If it's worth it i'll pick up your female. Thanks
 
Mark, that original ad is 2 years old, lol. However, what you would end up with if you bred your albino male to a 100% het pied female would be babies that are normal in color, but they would be 100% het for albino, and 50% het for pied.
 
This (2006) will be my 4th year producing 100% het pieds. Currently I don't have any available except for a yearling pair that is priced at $4k US. I will have more 100% het pieds produced in the summer of 2006 from both my pied males (and hopefully my pied female as well). I have 7 100% het pied females bred by my pied males as well.
