Adopted, thanks so much!!
I have been housing and rehabbing 3 rescue cresties for the past several months. A quick background: 1.2 (one female being a sub-adult) were being kept in a barren tank together, being fed nothing but undusted, ungut-loaded crickets. They came to me in very poor shape, let me know if you want to see "before" photos so you can see the improvement. They were suffering malnutrition, MBD, among other issues. I have kept them in special bins and on supplemented CGD diets with UVB.
2 of the 3 are now ready for new homes. I simply can't keep everybody I rescue, I'd have way more than I can handle! I hope there are some folks out there who do have the time and room in their hearts for a special gecko. I believe they may need additional supportive care for some time, especially in the form of calcium supplementation. They should NEVER be used for breeding, and MUST be fed solely CGD! I am being honest about their current conditions but of course feel free to contact me with any questions. I'm also happy to discuss details of what I've done/am doing for them. Both eat wonderfully on CGD now, you'll not have a problem with that! I apologize for the photo quality, I haven't had time to set up a proper shoot and need to get them shipped during this window in the weather.
First is the female (who I would totally keep if I had room). She is a cream with faint tiger markings, I've never seen her darker than these photos. She is very sweet and fairly easy to handle for a gecko who never was. You can see that she eats well, but she's also a good-sized gecko! She has a slight hip rotation and one large kink in her tail but those are the only remaining signs of her ordeal and do not affect her. She thankfully never laid eggs while in my care and I am sure she is not gravid. To cover a fraction of her care costs I'm asking $50 + shipping with SYR (I am happy to give a quote if you send your zipcode).
Sorry this next photo is blurry, wanted to show the tail/hips:
Next is the male, a somewhat uniquely colored orange/yellow with only faint dorsal patterning. He is NOT a beginner's gecko, he is extremely difficult to handle and very flighty. He needs someone willing to be patient and work with him very slowly. However, he also obviously eats well (excuse his mild case of scrote-throat, haha) and is recovering nicely. He has a slight hump to his spine as well as crooked hips and a few kinks in his tail, they do not seem to affect him. He has an affinity for paper towel tubes and is a pretty big gecko too. I'm asking $30 + shipping to cover some of his care, or will take $70 + shipping for both.
If you think you could give a knowledgeable, caring home for one or both geckos, please email me at [email protected]! I am very very hopeful to find them homes with members here who I know will care for them properly instead of having to post them on craiglist. Any questions are welcome and new homes prayed for!
