In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

Yeah, I know. They are a pain in the butt. But they pay the bills to keep my server running. Just a fact of life, I am afraid.

Want to get rid of them? Simple. Just become a Contributor level member or above and they will be gone. -> Please click HERE."

Is that too much for me to ask of you to keep this site running? Well, sorry about that. I too wish I could get everything for free. But alas.....

    =====================

Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

I emailed him to Jason, and he basically told me I don't get pics unless I send money.

Who's not up on the market value of balls? You or me sister, cuz I know I am......This summer '04 spider males are going for $14-15k, females are going for $10k and PAIRS are $22-23K......NOT $13K....If you have them or your friend does why don't u have him take pics of the ones he has for sale on today's paper with the date displayed so we know the pics are just off someone's site....And no, I don't think that is too much to ask at all considering someone may get scammed for $13,000...

You have to remember, these are asking/listed prices. One can find them a bit cheaper if the call around and have a fist full of money.

I am not sure if I buy the ad, but I don't see many people dumping 14-15k on a male spider either.

I don't see many people either spending $14k on a male spider, but I was just saying that to show how crazy her deal was....It's just too good to be true....For $14k u would be better off with a cinny male with the way that market is going...

I agree, the black balls are pretty sweet lookin.

I think if somebody is lookin for spiders they'd know enough to check out the folks in New England, that way you get a better selection and its from the folks who got the spider project going.

If it is for real, good luck selling them Amy, as it may be hard when you can't even send an interested party some pictures without them sending the money first.....lol

Here is a quote from the email they sent me..
I possibly will have PICS on friday but that's only if i have a solid committed sale. I can send PICS of the parents, but at this time and at this price, Pics of the babies are going to the buyer.

Rob & Amy are very reputable, so I don't have any doubts as to this deal being totally legit.

That being said, I can understand frustration with "window shoppers," but asking someone to commit to a five figure price sight unseen is a bit unreasonable, IMO. Call me old-fashioned, but I'm a staunch believer in being an informed consumer.

My thoughts exactly, the "Pics of the babies are going to the buyer. " is what had me in doubt.

Like I said, if its for real its not a bad deal at all, good luck.....

pics to the buyer

why couldnt the buyer take their own pics im not saying there lieing but dam that asking someone to buy a car without test driving it just post the pics yourself with the ad that will save the frustration i found that out

If you can afford to spend $13k on some animals then you can afford a few hundred bucks in plane tickets. Tell them you'll fly there with cash in hand and see what their response is. If I was spending that kind of money I'd pick up the animals myself.

Fluctuating Prices

I've dealt with Rob and Amy previously, and as far as I know, they have always had good reputations in the herp business, so I do not doubt they have the animals they are putting up for sale.

To the ball market, yes, spiders normally are listed for 13-15K each for males. They (Spiders) have been produced in pretty good quantities (think about how many years they have been around, the traits, and who is producing them and you'll get an idea). This year, prices should dip on them so for someone to blow them out at this price is not all that unusual.

I have to admit, I'm a little puzzled by the photos being sent only for firm commitments, but each seller has their own ideas on how they do business. There's a ton of people out there snagging photos and using them to sell animals they don't possess (that snow boa scam comes to mind). I too would be a little concerned if someone I'd not heard of asked for photos of hatchlings on one of my secret projects (even though you all know I can't keep secrets <G>) :D

Let's cut them a little slack, and let's get someone on this thread to pony up the cash and we'll see what you get in the way of photos/animals ;)

Just wanted to let everyone know the price jumped up to 13k a piece, instead of 13k a pair. Other then that they seemed like nice enough people to deal with. I do think their ad could use some revision though.

1) Rob and Amy are some of the most honest people that have ever been in this business

2) If you were in the market for spider balls and you were offered a great price on them and they were legit, you would be a fool to not want them because you did not see a pic. Spiders are spiders. I have seen dozens of them and they vary a bit but they are all very similar and you are buying them to breed or resell not to stare at. It isn't like a pastel where some are much better colored than others.

3) for the experts commenting on ball python values and pricing, there is a PILE of spiders for sale right now, (9 people that I know of and I am sure there are more) many from people who do not want to sell them but want them sold by others so they do not have to deal with 5,000 people who have no money asking for pics. I have personally been offered spiders by several people already this year at way below the prices on the net. To hold the value of the project most breeders will not advertise the animals cheap but will they sell them cheap to people they know when they are not selling well at the inflated prices from last season? YES! Do you really think now that dozens of people are producing them and they are not selling at the high prices they are at, that they will not quickly come down in price? That is how this works. Look for $5000 spiders next season. Later this year at big shows breeders who have them sitting and eating with only a couple big shows to sell them at will be cutting them loose way cheaper than $10-15,000. How about $7,000-10,000? Less? Cash talks.
