    In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

    Yeah, I know. They are a pain in the butt. But they pay the bills to keep my server running. Just a fact of life, I am afraid.

    Want to get rid of them? Simple. Just become a Contributor level member or above and they will be gone. -> Please click HERE."

    Is that too much for me to ask of you to keep this site running? Well, sorry about that. I too wish I could get everything for free. But alas.....

    =====================

    Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

This may be a stupid question...but are red coastal carpets just that, normal coastals that have been bred to have red coloration? Or are they actually Irian Jaya/Western Papua or whatever which have the typical redish coloration?

Red coastals are not the result of crossbreeding McDowelli to any other ssp.. They are coastal, and I don't believe anyone has nailed down the genetics. Reds tend to produce a certain amount of red offspring.

The reds don't remain red, as they mature they tend to lighten. Many reds look similar to caramels.

On another note, I have sibs from red girl that threw some reds, and the normal sibs (not red) raised up and bred to normal nice looking coastal (no red either) and have thrown reds. You are absolutely right, no one has nailed down the genetics, but I attest that the gene that produces red offspring, is passed on even if it is not visibly displayed, it can be there, only to reemerge again in the normal siblings offspring. Just FYI

Dam is coastal jag produced by Jim Kurosky, former owner and creator of Moreliapythons.com. Granddam is the Large Banded Coastal that Will Leary has (but was owned by Jim at the time).

Sire is a red produced by Michael Pennel, from his original Lemke female (VPI), and a red of unknown lineage.

I have both male and female reds and normals. For the jags, I only have a female ready. They're eating once a week. Depending on the individual, they're eating f/t rat pinks or mouse fuzzies. They were born mid May.

Contact information can be found on my website, select-serpents.com. Both email and phone are listed. I'm available most hours of the day, so feel free to call when it's convenient for you or let me know when a good time to call is.
