Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

    Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

Well darn it,

I have been in the animal business for damn near 20 years, but only internet/sub wholesale since march. I sent an email to Seattle Reptiles, cause I was searching out stores this coast, a quick ship, hoping to etablish LTR selling.

I was so comfortable with the person I was selling to after email correspondance I OFFERED to ship first, a beginners mistake.

When I sent the payment request to the email on paypal, it said :you have sent a payment request to Swanees Exotics...... My stomach sank.

This Guy! He still advertises on Kingsnake, anyone good with the owner should let them know.

Why is he still allowed to function whatsover in this industry, when he actively seeks out to rip off so many.

Anyway, I know I am stupid, But it needs to be put out there.

The actual store Seattle Reptile is no longer around I have not seen or heard of Nate Swanson for a couple weeks so I would suspect a scam. I will stop in to the NEW store Reptile Food Depot and let the know though and ask if they have any info for you.
 
Though the store is closed, or changed hands, or come under a new name.... whichever it nay be.
I have seen multiple ads posted by nate selling off any stock he still had on hand.
 
The store (Seattle Reptiles) has been transferred to a new owner, who, from what I have seen, has made many positive changes in animal husbandry and customer service. Nate continues to run Swanees Exotics, but no longer owns Seattle Reptiles. The new name of the store is Reptile Food Depot. If you are local I would recommend checking out the "new" store. When I was there about four weeks ago I was certainly impressed with the changes Steven (the owner) has made. This is not to say everything is perfect, but I don't expect to agree with anyone's husbandry and business practices 100%. I'm sorry if this is off topic, I am simply trying to make sure that it is clear whom comments criticism should be directed at.
 
To be fair, Nate paid me a little over half a couple days back. He says he will try and get me the rest within 7 days.
 
Unacceptable...

You don't go into an agreement like that and only scrounge up 50% payment days after the transaction is made. Either you have the money or you don't...which means either you make the transaction or you don't. There is no gray area!
 
New owner, Steven, is turning the place around it seems. I have gone in there a couple times just to chit chat and see what his plans for business were, and he has a very positive outlook, and is trying to disconnect himself from Nate altogether. Keep it up Steven! As for Nate, I will keep letting people know about his ways. The guy has had plenty of chances to clean up his act and still has yet to show any signs of improvement.
 
The store is under new ownership, & has a new name, but Nate still operates under Seattle Reptiles & has attended the last two local shows as a vendor, so he's still in business.

Nate is a great person to deal with and the store WAS NOT transferred to Steven. Steven always dealt with the feeder items at seattle reptiles anyways. He simply stayed in the location selling feeders. Do not hesitate to do business with Nate he is a great guy and DOES NOT rip people off.

Explain that to the people that have unresolved business transactions with him (owed money or animals).

Nate told me he was stepping down.

The store is totally revamped. They have new caging, different setup & from what it sounds like, Steve gets his animals from fairly reliable sources (as opposed to putting an ad on local Craigslist asking people to catch local wildlife reptiles like Nate did).
 
It is known there may be some bad transactions in the past. But I have been speaking with Nate and I feel I may have judged him wrong from looking at previous posts. I am all about giving people chances if they come through and make things right, which he did. His business may have been struggling and it may have caused him to have some "debt" with people. I urge them to try and work things out, as he did with me.

I do regret posting this thread from my overall experience with him thus far.

Also, When the classifieds here was a paid service he purchased a membership to place ads on this site. After placing his ads he didn't like the responses he received for soliciting WC animals so he proceeds to file a complaint to receive the funds back for his advertising here.

He paid for advertising here, used it then filed a complaint with paypal to receive his money back.

He has worn out is welcome here.
 
I gave him baby bearded Braydon's and the mom and dad. He said that he was going to send me a pair of Uros for them and he never sent them. For all I know he sold them. When I tryed to email and Facebook him he blocked me. Nat is a very bad person and I tell every one never to do any thing with him or Seattle reptiles. I would still like him to make good on this but he will not. He is a bad person
 
As far as I know, Nate does still operate under Seattle Reptile, but the store in Everett is now named "Reptile Food Depot".
 
the two awesome things i received from Nate when it was Seattle Reptiles were two fabulous extreme cresties. interesting reading the tidbits on him though. can't make any judgements on the guy since i've only talked to him from time to time in the store from the past. other than that the new store is quite nice and much cleaner.
