In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

Yeah, I know. They are a pain in the butt. But they pay the bills to keep my server running. Just a fact of life, I am afraid.

Want to get rid of them? Simple. Just become a Contributor level member or above and they will be gone. -> Please click HERE."

Is that too much for me to ask of you to keep this site running? Well, sorry about that. I too wish I could get everything for free. But alas.....

Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

Hey All,

I have been modeling some treeFrogs and Chameleons in my 3D app and I have sent them off to be 3d printed. I'm wondering how many of you would be interested in buying these. I don't yet have pricing because I need to figured out how much manufacturing will cost. I should have a better idea in a few weeks. I'm just trying to anticipate what the demand will be like so I can ensure my efforts aren't in vain.

Below are the images and your feedback is much appreciated!

Would these be as realistically painted as they are printed? I would love to have some of these for education purposes but only if they are truly representative of the species, color included. Great 3D modeling job though, wow!

They would come unpainted currently. I've found that more often than not there are people that want to customize their coloration to their own liking and it saves considerably on labor for me when I have a ton of these to pour into the molds and ship. I'm currently looking into a means of outside manufacturing however and this could all change if we can drive our costs down enough.

Cost

What did it cost you to get that chameleon printed? From what I've seen, 3D printing is still pretty pricey. How tall is that cham? Looks pretty tall.

"3D printing is still pretty pricey"

Smashtoad is correct, 3d printing is still pretty pricey however I've been working out a deal with the print shops and I can offer a few options to you all.

They are as follows:

Option A:

you receive a good quality poured resin cast that may have slight seams along the sides from the molds. But will cost significantly less at around $25.00 to $30.00 per piece (This price is still to be determined).

Option B

You receive a highly detailed resin 3d print that will have amazing detail with zero seams at a higher cost at around $75.00 to $100.00 per piece.

Maybe I can get to a place where I can offer both options for now and see which one you guys prefer?

Again your feedback is much appreciated.

I personally would prefer the more expensive option. I actually have access to a 3D printer (a small consumer model) but it doesn't have the resolution of the more expensive types. I'd rather not have seams, but again, I'm looking for scientific-level correctness in anatomy here. Call me picky. :)

Honestly, I'd be fine with either. However, I'm leaning towards option A. But before making my final decision, I'd like to see some of the samples from each option. I love your work so far!
