I'm making 48x24x16 enclosures for medium sized snakes. I've gone thru a few designs, but this one is perfect for a fairly basic cage. Its made from 1/2" hardwood birch plywood. I treat the inside to make it extremely water resistant, lay laminate tile on the floor for easier maintenance, then stain the outside. The glass slides as you can probably tell. Not easy enough for most snakes to open, but I put a little door jam of cards in there just to be sure. Holds humidity great without needing to mist everyday. Mine uses UTH, but I can do a simple modification to make so it can be heated by lamps. I'm saying around $165-175 for one of these made to order. I can usually get them done in a couple days. I'm located in Mansfield, OH. I can bring it to you for up to 1.5hrs away but will charge extra for the gas.
