This is a live bearing and communal species of skink, with tons of personalities, and very easy to keep.
Their care requirements are very similar to bearded dragons' (they basically share the same geographic range in the wild). Uvb 10.0 and 100-150 w basking light, in a 40 gal tank, 8-9 hours per day. No lights and heat at night.
We use a mix of red reptisand, ecoearth and forest floor/mulch as a substrate, and a few rock slabs and cork tubes as shelter, and to get closer to the lights to bask. We see them drinking water very regularly, so always make sure they have clean water (we use a very shallow water bowl for babies).
We offer them a wide variety of food. Crickets, dandelion, collared greens, carrots, banana, Repashy grub pie, Pangea and occasionally canned cat food for babies and hornworms.
