I purchased this snake a little over month ago, with a promise that it was tame. Unfortunately, the previous seller was not 100% honest. I travel three weeks out of the month, for work and my girlfriend cares for our Retics, while I'm away. I do not completely feel comfortable leaving my girlfriend alone, to handle this snake, to clean it's cage, etc.
From what I have learned, this girl originally came from Greg Bryant (The Retic Ranch) and he's the one who imported her. She was then sold to the person I purchased her from.
I'm not one to recently purchase an animal and then try and sell it, but I don't see another alternative at this point.
She is perfectly healthy, with no kinks. She does have a nickel sized scar, on top of her head, from an old rub. But, other than that, she's good to go.
She's aprox. 8' long and is feeding on F/T rabbits (she has taken two 3 pounders, since she's been in my possession). She is comfortable with a hook, but she'll take a swing at you, if you're not giving her your 100%, undivided attention. She isn't too head shy, as I've rubbed her head (on top and underneath) with the hook, without any problems.
She'd be a great little girl, to breed and see what happens with the gene. I had planned to breed her to my Golden Child Tiger, but again...I just don't feel comfortable leaving my girlfriend to care for her alone.
I'm not looking to make a lot of money off of her. It's not often you find a calico for sale, as they're a hot commodity and people don't let go of them, once they get them...mean or not.
Shoot me an offer and we'll talk. Obviously, if you're interested in her, you know the rarity and value and also know that I will not sell her to an unexperianced Retic keeper.
