    In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

    Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

Wow! I just glanced over at the hit counter in the right hand column and noticed that this site has just passed the 70 million hits milestone.

Not bad for a little two-bit forum site, eh? :thumbsup:

Actually when I think about it, that counter is probably a real good representation of every hair on my head that has turned gray and fallen out because of this site.... Or maybe the number of Excedrins I have taken over the years........ :notallthe

Honestly, it's not me making this site what it is. It's all of you guys. I've been trying different ways to run this site from the beginning, and I think I've settled in to what seems to work best. Kind of a benign dictatorship. Hands off didn't work. TOO MUCH hands on didn't work. Letting people pay into the ability to mod this site didn't work. Requiring payment for certain features or accessibility didn't work.

So I think I'm pretty much settled in on how this site needs to be now, if the increase in traffic is any good indication. If I can make a few bucks off of advertisers and memberships, which is DIRECTLY related to traffic, then that's all I need to make my retirement survivable.

You all can help by spreading the word. Get people to advertise their animals, hard goods, and services here. THAT is what will help more then anything else. Traffic to a site is pretty much like rolling a snowball down a steep hill. The more traffic it has, the more traffic it picks up. People need a reason to come to a site, and from what I have seen other people already being there is the most compelling incentive for that to happen

I know I said I'd remind you in August but since you're here and on the subject...

I had brought this idea up about stickers similar to the flyers you sent me (which I am working my through the stack you sent me) to put on the boxes and cups of crickets I sell. Depending on the show I could easily go through a couple hundred. Food for thought ...:shrug01:

Yes, it is a good idea, but with 5,000 snakes hatching out right now, there is no way I can add something else to my plate.........
