    Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

A couple of questions for Neil Gub...The Snake Pit

Neil I do have to say that The cages are in very good condition. #### it even have decaration in thme which is more then I do for my cages. (mine are just substrate, water bowl, and hide box, not much designe even though my girlfriend keep asking me for better looking cage) I do have to say the cages look Awesome.

        In your list of photos? In the third one from the bottom?
Could you send me an enlargement of the area about 2 5/16" in from the right side and about 3 9/16" up from the bottom!!! I think it might be POOP but I can't tell with  my magnifying glass! LOL!  LOL!  LOL!  When you get a chance take a sample of it.  I hear there is a chemistry student in your area? Maybe (he)?? can tell you what it is.  I know this is a waste of space. ok i just looked at the pics .. and well i must sai NEIL im totally shocked in what i saw !!! how could you for a minute let this happen ... lol  but on the serious not all looks good to me , by the way ..OMG  i hafta go my snake has pooped in his cage , will i be the next to  drug thru the mud!!!  i am calling HAZMAT to remove this pile out of my area i will return ...LoL

This whole thread is a disgrace.

One person posts something the rest of you don't like, and you descend immediately into the sewer of ad hominem attacks. I don't know Neil. I don't know Lennox/Luis. But if I were L., and I had something unpleasant to post about a big breeder in this business, you can sure as #### bet I would use a pseudonym. Why would I want anyone to be able to search my name out, using Google, and come up with fifty posts full of inane rhetoric and "your balls are smaller than my balls" posts? What impression would that make on you, if you were new to this hobby and wanted to see what your fellow hobbyists were like?  Yeah, seeing vicious attacks on someone for [apparently] no reason - that'd really put some faith in this hobby, and in the people I have to deal with if I'm going to pursue it.

As well, while registering for this account, I couldn't help noticing:

Julianna....Honestly, I couldn't agree with you more!! I really don't like the fact that, even though they're sticking up for me, some of these posts contain stuff I haven't used since I was in gradeschool! Don't get me wrong...sometimes, a little humor is well-justified, BUT ....if you have to resort to "balls" discussions, and attacks on family members, I'd prefer they didn't post at all...in MY responses, I TRY to alleviate the problem...NOT continue it ad nausea....that helps NO ONE!! I truly didn't get angry at Lennox (?) for saying what he did...YES, it hurt, and I thought I was doing better than that, but....he was absolutely right about one point...it made me painfully aware that you've got to be on your toes when you're dealing with animals and the public! Obviously, you can NEVER be TOO CLEAN! I transgress....I might disagree with his statement, but, I'll fight to the death for his right to say it! I mean...I really appreciate the positive feedback from my "friends" on here, but, even I KNOW that it's just because they like the fight! I'd still rather have them NOT jump in if they aren't first-hand knowledge-holders....you can stick up for someone, but that doesn't mean you have to "talk down" to the other person....stick with the facts of the case (for the most part), but try to surpress the, let's say....kid stuff?? ....Neil

Why would he WANT to use his real name if it's going to be attached to a string of posts like these? Think about this. [generally speaking] Your customers put your name, and your business's name, into Google, and come up with a page full of you insulting someone's testicles?

Oh, that'd sure impress me. And it sure does make me want to use my real name, in case I ever do have a bone to pick with someone I do business with - I can't wait for friends, relatives and customers to look my name up and see "man, your balls are too small!"

Maybe I could put that on my business cards.

But then it turns out...this person does not know their real name....or purposely witheld their real name.

Two complaints about neil.  Both of them did not use their real names.  One can only conclude that these people are making up stories.  Because...oh I don't know.....maybe they were bored and were looking for attention......then they make it sound like they were just trying to see who would figure it out first.  But they were actually just trying to pull one over on everyone.....AND KNOWINGLY BREAKING THE RULES !!!!

Didn't people get banned for posting under fake names?

If it were a valid complaint...he would have used his real name.   That is a MAJOR RULE of this forum

But apperantly it is not a valid complaint.....because there are customers who have been in Neil's store more recently...and not like ten years ago or whatever.....and they all say his store is fine.

If you are gonna make a complaint....I say it should be an up to date complaint...not one of these

If I had a complaint about "a Big Breeder" you can be sure 100% that I would use my real name......and I would not worry about anyone attacking me...because I would not care.
As long as I have a legitimate complaint....and if what I say is true and can be proven...and if I use my real name... I KNOW I would NOT get attacked.

Here are some rules to be sure not to get attacked.
1.  Think customers first
2.  Post with your real name.
3.  Post all the details (time,date, price, animal, who, what, when, where, why, how, pictures if available)
4.  Tell the truth.
5.  Post a legitimate complaint....not a whiny baby complaint.

example of whiny baby complaint.
1.  The shipping company shipped it late....and the heater stopped working.  (not the seller's fault)
2.  it took him a whole ten mintues to return my (e-mail, call, whatever)
3.  he had a hundred enclosures....and 3 of them had poo poo
4.  he is a smoker and he is gonna rot in h3ll (chame chame chame)
5.  he wipes back to front instead of whiping front to back.
6. he leaves the toilet seat up.

etc etc etc

Actually, what I really hate is the fact that Lennox's(?) post did have some legitimacy, but he handled himself wrongly. As I said before, any concerns should have been addressed to Neil on the spot. If that did not acheive satisfactory results, then Lennox would have been justified in posting his concerns. There's a right way and a wrong way to handle things, and Lennox chose the wrong way.

The part of Lennox's post that I view as legit is that which mentions smoking around herps. Unfortunately, some have taken this as a smokers vs nonsmokers issue, which it is not. It's about animals whose systems are more sensetive to environmental impurities, and who do not have the option of going to a smoke-free area. Neil, I would hope for the sake of your animals that you discontinue smoking in the store, if you haven't already.

As for the accusations of poor husbandry, even without seeing the pics, I feel that that concern has been adequately debunked,
 
Ken...I hear ya...but, as much as I'd like to...I just can't! I smoke! It's a bad habit, I know, but...I smoke? I know very well how cigarettes can affect animals....but...I smoke? If I went outside to have one...I'd NEVER be in the store (which, for some, might be a GOOD thing&#33<img src="http://www.faunaclassifieds.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/wink.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt=';)'> lol! That's the main reason I put a LARGE exhaust fan in the back door, and there is nothing in the way of the front door to back door airflow....the only air that is in the front of the store is the air that's brought in when the door opens...everything else gets sucked right out the back....and very well, too! I could certainly understand if I was in an enclosed area with no ventilation, but my place is vastly different...I'm sure they can still be affected in some way....but, they're just going to have to live with it! I haven't had any problems because of the smoke, so far?? I figure if it ain't broke...don't fix it! So, for all of you who are either allergic to smoke, or you just don't like it...well, I'm sorry, but I can't stop....obviously, it's your choice whether you come into my place, or not ....with no hard feelings on my end, at least....Neil
 
Definitely no hard feelings Neil, and perhaps I'll drop by the next time I'm down at MacDill, whenever that may be.

The exhaust fan is a good idea put to good use. As usual, you seem to be one step ahead....lol.
 
I agree he has some points...
But when they post under a anonymous name...it makes me...go on the automatic attack.

Then he tells me to reread..because he knows his name.  That urked me because he clearly does not.

But yes you are right..he had some good points....just a very bad way of dealing with it.  But I guess in his opinion it was a good way....But hey I guess we are all entitled to our own opinions.
