    In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

Today we passed the 1,000,000 impressions since April 17th when I set up that little ad in the upper right hand corner of the page.  This keeps track of the raw impression count for me so I can keep tabs on such things.

Yeah, I know this isn't anywhere near what KINGSNAKE.COM gets, but I'm excited about it anyway.  I have no desire to be the biggest fish in the biggest pond anyway.  I'm just glad that so many people have found this site to be useful to them.  The advertisers are holding their own helping me pay the bills here, so I can keep this site free for everyone's use.

One thing I have noticed lately is that it is kind of rare for a request for info in the BOI to go unanswered.  In the original version of the BOI I set up, it was fairly common for messages to never get a response.  So I think we are getting enough representation here now that we can all expect that SOMEONE out there has certainly had some experience with just about anyone we might be considering doing business with.  That's what we need: feedback.  As long as the spotlight stays on, the bad guys have nowhere to hide.  The more feedback we get about someone, the more accurate the picture will be about how they do business.

Most of the impressions would not only be because of people wanting to read about you, but from YOU yourself, as much time as you spend on here.
 
congrats man thats a great milestone im sure its just a start,as more and more people find that other forums {no big names mentioned} are not quite what they should be i think more and more folks will drift over to here ,of course the adertizing dollars will come with them.just dont lose your head or turn ,feet firmly on the ground like they alwas have been.congrats again

Congrats Webslave!!  This site is one of the greatest assets to anyone who uses it, and best of all, it's FREEEEE!  Where else can you go to get the wealth of info you can get here?  Heck, this is the first place I go when getting on line, sometimes, it's this is as far as I get, depending on if Neils "forum" has anything going on it!  LOL

Ixnay!  The database holding all of these messages is already up to almost 20 megabytes and growing each and every day.  Sooner or later I'm going to run up against my old bugaboo "the bandwidth cap", and I'd rather it be later rather than sooner.

Someone asked about something like a BS forum a little while back and I declined.  The internet is filled to the brim with message boards and newsgroups where you can find one or more specific forums about ANYTHING you want to talk about.  I do NOT want the signals in these threads to get drowned out by the noise.  So although a little banter is acceptable, I will not allow it to go on for long.

By the way, the hit counters are counting VIEWERS, not POSTERS. Since I want this site to provide quality rather than quantity, please pull the reins in on the unnecessary chatter so the viewers have a good reason to come here.
