    Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

Hello,

I just recently joined this site within the last couple months and wanted to give my thoughts and observations on the BOI threads. While in the most part this is a great tool for information on potential business transaction I have noticed something that alarms me greatly. Now without naming people as this is just for a look from new eyes. I have noticed a clique here with some moderators, veterans, and some newbs. That is just so wrong its rediculous. First off anyone with the title and responsibility of a moderator needs to be impartial even if the person being called out is a friend. Its not your job to stick up for them and discount the complaint. It is the accused job, (just like its the accusers job) to supply burden of proof. If you cant as a moderator be impartial then you need to stay the hell out of it and let someone else handle it. Remember just because someone was a goodguy for years when times where good and then does the same things you would hang others for when times are bad for him is no excuse. We all have problems in life from time to time whether it be financial, medical, whatever. But just because that happens to you doesnt give you the right to mistreat, lie, steal, or use as an excuse your troubles to condon doing disreputable business.:NoNo: I hope all think about these things before they try to stick up for people as with new folks like me it makes you look as bad as the party commiting the offense. This is just one mans thoughts you can choose to listen or you can choose to ignore them. But at least read them.

Because someone has a moderator hat, doesn't mean they can't offer their personal opinion. Why should someone have to stay out of a thread because their name is blue? They suddenly don't have an opinion? You say that there is a clique, but if you actually read some posts, people in said clique sometimes don't get along.

And I agree with Tyler, the second Tyler that is, that everyone is entitled to their opinion and entitled to voice it be it a moderator or a new member. One thing I tend to think about opinions other then a certain body part they are referenced to be like, most of the time they are based on feelings versus fact. Were there more opinions based on fact there would be a lot less opinions being made. That's just my opinion.
 
It seems that people on the wrong side of popular opinion have been accusing everyone who disagrees with them as being part of a clique for as long as the BOI has been around. Matter of fact, a while back I almost bought a few cases of these little hand clickers to distribute at Expo one year with the logo on them "Click if you're part of the BOI Clique!". :rofl:

Seriously, I don't try to make the job of being moderator around here any less attractive by telling those people that they are no longer welcome to their personal opinions in threads. They are all real people too, and as such, can certainly act in that capacity when it suits them.

I wonder if there is more to this then meets the eye.

Any active forum can appear to have a clique, especially to someone who is new. People create relationships through being active in the forums, some good, and some bad. This happens on all active forums, regardless of their nature.


The Mods are people too, and just like you, they are entitled to their opinion. You may not agree with some of their opinions, other members opinions, or even my opinion. Just like right now, I disagree with most of what you said, but it's your opinion.

The BOI is one of the best resources available for potential buyers, and sellers to find information on someone, and how transactions went with others.

In most cases, people who talk down about the BOI, are usually people who have had a bad guy post, or something negative said about them, or someone they know. My advise is, do good business so you will only see good things about you there.

One thing to remember is that if a mod is voicing an opinion and not acting as a mod, one is perfectly free to disagree.
And Tyler, just because you made an observation, no one is going to bother you. They may not agree, but you are as welcome to your opinion as anyone else.

I want a cute clicker.
 
As everyone has stated... When a Moderator posts on a thread about someone or some situation.. that's their opinion. The moderators are there to help keep the BOI calm and collected and have done so for a LONG LONG time! They are great people and that's why scammers and thiefs are often caught on here before they can scam anyone!

As for the BOI clique, there are people who will speak their minds more then others but if you've noticed, there are several times when those so called "clique" members will go at each others throats :) The BOI is a great tool to weed out the good and bad businesses in this industry and those that post their opinions on there are Usually quite helpful with getting the full story out! A lot of times it takes a few pages to weed out and get the Full story before an issue is resolved or to find out the Full story before things are settled!

Your opinion is your opinion and people will read it as such. They may take it into consideration and they may not. It's up to those who read the threads and posts to decide the truth the whole truth and nothing but the truth :)

They only open the door for certain people didn't you know that? But you have to agree to disagree with anyone with a different opinion whether you agree or not... LOL... :D

In all seriousness though... I don't believe there are cliques on there... there are members who may come to the defense of someone quickly and hard to make a point but it's all a matter of who can prove what!
