Pictured is the "normal" female bred by one of my pastel males, note her striping near her head and tail and her interesting pattern. I just thought she was a good looking normal ball. Fast forward two years and I bred her with one of my pastel males. The clutch hatches and all the babies both normal and pastel not only have the same striping head and tail as mom but they vary in abherant pattern from mild to wild. So now I am wondering if this is one of those not so impressive dominant markers that has a killer super form like the spotnose. We will have to wait and see.

Nice, Evan. I have a female whose pattern and coloration is identical to that, except she also has very high white sides, like the best spiders. I'll be breeding her to my male cinnamon this coming season. She is my garbage disposal and is the best feeding ball I've ever seen so I can't wait to see how she breeds. Congratulations and good luck with those. Looks like you have a new little project to work on in the future.

thats awesome evan . i like those critters . hey when i pay off the male pastel i'm buying can i pick one of those ? lol just kidding , i'm sure you'll be wanting to hold onto those . i know i would .

I was thinking the same thing...Hey Evan, is that little guy one of the ones I get to pick from? lol! ;)

actually guys since they are all males from that clutch you will get at shot a couple of them, I am just going to keep the one in the front of the pic to breed back to his mom, hopefully next year. I need another male pastel like a hole in the head, but what can you do?

thats very cool evan . i might have to borrow a little cash so i can pay mine off faster so i can have a shot at one of them .

I think the way it works is that the order of choice depends on the order you came in with your deposit. I know I was the first one to send it so I get first pick, and you weren't too far behind me. Then once you have your particular animal selected, you have 30 days to pay while they eat a few more meals and shed one more time.

Is that right Evan?

doesnt really matter , i'm sure whatever animal i get i'll be happy with it . :scatter:

pics of the coolest male from the clutch, faded head, striping at head and tail, harlequin like circular pattern in striping, banded body with many other oddball markings. ????

Dang Evan, now you got me wanting another Pastel.I am just now recovering from the last purchase and now I think I need another one.Oh well,I guess this ol' Bama boy will have to work some more O.T. in 100` heat.Keep up the good work bro'.You sold me a beauty and I hope you are able to come up with something special out of these.

Hopefully, that male will breed his mother (please no emails) next season and maybe just maybe, they are like some of the colubrids and boas where the striping varies and breeding them to each other gets some full stripeys. Who knows? One more distraction for me. As it stands I am already not even sure where I am at least half the day. I need more projects.
