In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

Yeah, I know. They are a pain in the butt. But they pay the bills to keep my server running. Just a fact of life, I am afraid.

Want to get rid of them? Simple. Just become a Contributor level member or above and they will be gone. -> Please click HERE."

Is that too much for me to ask of you to keep this site running? Well, sorry about that. I too wish I could get everything for free. But alas.....

    =====================

Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

A survey for EVERYONE!!!

Why do you have a kingsnake for a pet?

I'm particlar to Cal. kings and they really are a cool snake. Lots of colors and patterns and personality. They really are a bitchin snake.

I showed an interest in the snake, and ended up getting it as a christmas gift. Loving it so far, definitely an awesome, and good lookin snake.

I keep mine mainly as pets, but must admit I'll get the other sex if I buy a second of the same ssp. JUST IN CASE! LOL

Kingsnakes (incl. Milksnakes) have always been my favorites. I mostly breed snakes that I like on a personal level, so there has always been more Lampropeltis than anything else.

Although I'm a Boa guy at heart, I've noticed that in the last two years, my colony of Kingsnakes has been the fastest expanding group of animals that I keep.

There's something special about them that just keeps me coming back for more.

All my snakes are just personal pets and not used for breeding whatsoever. One of the reasons I don't breed is I've tried to burmate some of my kings because they indicated to me they wanted to by not feeding. However, living in Yuma, Arizona where the average daily temperature in 75 degrees all winter long I could never get my garage cold enough and couldn't justify running air conditioning all winter long in a room or in the house.
If am I going to breed I will loan my beloved snakes to one of my fellow herper friends who has experience and success breeding..............I mean basically he can just keep a room cold enough where he lives. :hehe:
I guess it just comes down to is I would miss them to much to not see them for 3-4 months. I do believe if you do breed you must have a plan of what you are going to do with the babies.
Happy Herping,

The only tri-color I have is my Knoblochi, unless you want to count my Tang. Hondo.

I've got a sinaloan or 20, a couple of pyros, and an apricot pueblan. As for cal. kings, got me a mess of them. Should have some very cool babies this year.

I just picked up a pair of grey banded kings at the Manchester, NH show on Apr 16th. They are still babies, but I plan to breed them once full grown. I currently have a snow corn that mated with a butter(het motley), and she'll be laying in a few weeks hopefully. Next year, I'll be breeding the same snow, a female butter (also het motley), and a Brazilian Rainbow Boa. Both the male boa and the female butter were too young for this year. The Grey bands will be added the year after that.

I just picked up this GB female. That makes 3 GBs now.

Thanks Wes. Shes nice and chunky. I am breeding her to my male now. I bred my other female to my male but What she laid were most likely slugs. I have them in the incubator but I'm not sure since I am new to breeding. I candled the eggs and saw no evident vien structure. They have a whitish opaque shell, but are springy to the touch when pressed on with a finger (as if they were filled with soft rubber. I think either the female was too small or the male is not viable. We shall see.
