    In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

    Yeah, I know. They are a pain in the butt. But they pay the bills to keep my server running. Just a fact of life, I am afraid.

    Want to get rid of them? Simple. Just become a Contributor level member or above and they will be gone. -> Please click HERE."

    Is that too much for me to ask of you to keep this site running? Well, sorry about that. I too wish I could get everything for free. But alas.....

    =====================

    Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

about to make a trade is this mojave or pastave??

Adding pastel to most BEL complex animals tends to add gold or yellow tones, that guys is really holding onto those nice deep velvet and other darker colors.

Can you get the guy to send you a ventral shot? Also, does he know the morphs of the parents?

The blushing, and light (possibly green) eyes, has me leaning toward its being a Pastave.

Some identification problems can be that there are some awesome Mojaves, with quite a bit of blushing, and some Pastaves that may not have as much. There are some Mojaves, with some nice yellows, and some Pastaves with not as much. There are lighter and darker Mojaves and Pastaves. Etc. Then you have quality of photos.
Of course, there are, also, those Mojaves, and Pastaves, where there is no doubt as to what it is.

Hmm, that's a tough call. Deb is right, I've had regular mojaves fool me into thinking they were something more just because they were really nice examples of the morph.

Do you know what the original pairing was? The first photo makes me think the animal is just a mojave, but the second photo is better and makes me lean toward pastave.

I've avoided this thread; but since it's on top again, I'll just say it....
If you can't tell that a young pastel mojave has pastel in it, why would you want it? If you're trading for a pet, and you just want a nice looking snake; that's one thing...all that matters then is that you are pleased with the trade. On the other hand, if you plan on breeding, that's a different story. IMO, people should consider more than just the morph and price tag when acquiring new snakes. It's worth paying a bit extra for quality.

As for the pictures shown above - the first image shows a decent looking mojave - the only hint at it being a pastel is the eye color. The second image is a little more passable as a pastel; but the colors seem a little off, so that could be artifact of lighting/flash. Based on the second picture, I could accept the idea that the snake is a pastel mojave...but again, at that size, it should be obvious. If you're seriously interested in the snake, request that the seller take a picture in natural light on a stark white background.
It can be very difficult to get pictures that accurately portray the colors of some snakes - believe me, I've struggled with it for years...and still get it wrong sometimes - but it seems that more and more people are content to not even try. (Yeah, I know - who buys/uses cameras in the smartphone age?)

some natural lighting, and the dorsal pic.
she does have green eyes and a lot of blushing... I went ahead and did the trade since she is a great eater (even FT)
