In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

Yeah, I know. They are a pain in the butt. But they pay the bills to keep my server running. Just a fact of life, I am afraid.

Want to get rid of them? Simple. Just become a Contributor level member or above and they will be gone. -> Please click HERE."

Is that too much for me to ask of you to keep this site running? Well, sorry about that. I too wish I could get everything for free. But alas.....

    =====================

Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

looks rough!! They have an ad for an Albino boa, supposedly lost its eyes in a bad shed. If you click on the picture, the Boa looks skinny! That boa should be nursed back to health prior to putting it up for sale, in my opinion. Has anyone done business with them before?

Here's the ad and picture.

I don't think I have EVER heard of someone PEELING BOTH EYES off a snake in shed.

This is definately fishy.

The ad:
I have a 1 year old Male Albino BOA. He is over 2 feet long and Very healthy. He is feeding on 2 to 3 F/T mice every week and growing fast. He is very pretty and Tame as can be. This snake was having a hard time shedding during his second shed and the original owner took it upon himself to try to help this poor little guy out What he ended up doing was peeling both of his eyes off. He came to me in pretty rough shape but after a year both eyes are totally healed and his is doing fine. He will breed in the future and produce some awesome looking babies. Please excuse the terrible pic. He is a lot more colorful and I can try to get better pics if necessary.I will accept only Money order for this guy and it must be received within 4 days of agreement to purchase. Some trades considered for higher end pythons. Buyer to pay all shipping costs. I will accept best offer over $800 on this guy.

Best offer over $800?

That is steep for a very low quality albino.

No eyes? Man what else is wrong with it that they are not telling you about.

Just looking at the snake and reading the ad makes me want to avoid them.

I looked at the pic again. Are those open sores on the snake?

The animal is really in very bad condition. Is it just me or there is also a scar in the part of the body that's lying on top? Where is it posted?

Thanks.

Damnit that picture brought tears to my eyes. I wish I was rich and could buy the poor thing and give it a chance at a decent life. I always tell others not to get suckered into a sympathy buy but that one just pulls at my heartstrings :-(

Shame on the guy selling it, if he were a decent human being he would adopt the animal out to a caring home :-(

I may be wrong here but I don't think so.

If that was a caring guy selling that snake he would have told the truth about it.

It sounds like another one of the eyeless boas that we see every year and the scumbags ALWAYS try to pass off as having lost an eye in a bad shed or the mom squishing it or some other idiotic excuse.

I've seen some really badly stuck eyecaps and even with duct tape NEVER injured a snakes actual eyeball, much less TWO of them.

That snake is WAY too skinny to be selling at all much less as a potential breeder. It's a damn shame that he's in the condition he's in and even more of a shame that the guy selling him didn't just adopt him out. That snake is a cull and should NEVER be bred.

Can't be 100% sure from just a photo, but I think I see what may be spinal deformities.

In any case this animal is in hideously bad shape. Since he is representing it as eyeless my guess would be a congenitally deformed animal with a lot of other things wrong with it internally.

Quote from the ad.........

have a 1 year old Male Albino BOA. He is over 2 feet long and Very healthy. He is feeding on 2 to 3 F/T mice every week and growing fast

Ok, let me understand this. He is 1 year old, ONLY 'over 2 feet long' (mind you, same size as some 6 month old and younger boas), eats 2-3 mice every week and STILL looks like that. I can see nothing more than an ad full of bold face lies. If one were to feed that animal ONE mouse every week it would be bigger and healthier than that snake.

As far the eyes, like mentioned previously, I call bu!!$hit on the story as well. I too have had some pretty bad eye caps and used all types of tape, but it would be damn near impossible to litterally pull an eye out of it's socket like this one supposedly had happen, not once, but twice!

Very sad that people let an animal that relies 100% on a human to survive end up looking like this one and in the condition it is in.

I suppose the scar/fresh wound is from too much water that it apparently needs as well.

In the thread
http://www.faunaclassifieds.com/forums/showthread.php?s=&threadid=19880&perpage=5&pagenumber=1 we discussed the issue of the ever growing appearance of albino boas with eye defects. This snake should not be up for sale, not only because it is in bad shape but because it should never be bred. Nevertheless the seller manifests “He will breed in the future and produce some awesome looking babies”. I don’t see who would pay over $800 for it (maybe just as a rescue) when flawless newborns are currently going for $1,000.

Has anyone contacted them and found out who this person really is so we know who not to consider buying from in the future?

I think he's gone?

I just went on to look up the add and could not find it under the 5/24 date he listed the add on acording to the date on the add the other person posted here. I looked an all pages but could not find this add or this person listed.

I agree with everyone else I to have had really bad eye sheds but never the outcome of that! How sad.

My 2 cents

I breed a lot of albino boas and that is definetly a birth defect, the snake was simply born with no eyes. The albino gene is a week gene and sometimes stuff like that that happens. And for the record i have a albino with a missing eye cap right now and it looks nothing like that. If you look down at the snakes head the clear bubble is missing but if you look at the snake from the side it`s very hard to notice anything cause the eye is still there.

I responded to them and this is what I got back.....

I am not kidding!!! I will call my vet and let him know about your awesome bridge as he examined this snake the day I got him. This is what happened. I can get a copy of the Vet report if you like. Why is it that there is always a Jerk out there that feels he needs to voice his opinion? Please do not respond to any of my future ads or to this e-mail.

I told him that If he provided me with a vet report on this animal not only would make a public apology, but I would also buy him. Needless to say I am not holding my breath.

In an effort to give them the benifit of the doubt I sent them the following message after my last post:

I just wanted to let you know there is a tread about this snake on the boi that someone else started. I took it upon myself to add our e-mails to the post. I just wanted you to know in case you wanted to save yourself some time and post the vet report there that way you can prove us all wrong at the same time. Thanks again Vinnie
