In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

Yeah, I know. They are a pain in the butt. But they pay the bills to keep my server running. Just a fact of life, I am afraid.

Want to get rid of them? Simple. Just become a Contributor level member or above and they will be gone. -> Please click HERE."

Is that too much for me to ask of you to keep this site running? Well, sorry about that. I too wish I could get everything for free. But alas.....

    =====================

Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

Adam at Millenium Morphs...give me my money

Adam,,
Maybe I'm missing something here but you said the reason you couldn't ship sooner was because of Daytona (I thought because you were getting ready to and going to Daytona)

Adam said""I am glad that saw our animals at Daytona and thought they were impressive. But I am sorry to say that Millennium Morphs was not even there.""

So why couldn't you ship sooner if you were not going to Daytona??? Like I said I must be missing something.

So I do not know what animals you were looking at, and to even make a comment that we have what everyone else has is rediculous. You obviously do not even know the animal that we have and your are making comments about them. I am sorry, but I do not understand how you can make those comments.
We were at Daytona with the pet store, not our reptile company.......For those who will ask why we said we were packing for Daytona and real busy.

Randy, Adam explained that at the end of the same paragraph that you quoted from in your post.

Adam, just a couple of quick points to sum up:

1- If you truly believed that you did nothing wrong, you would be happy that the details of this transaction were posted for all to see as a shining example of how you do business. Matt simply laid out the details of what happened. The fact that you were upset/embarrassed that this transaction was made public shows that you do not believe 100% that you did everything right.

2- The turning point in the transaction, that seems to be overlooked every time, is that you did not ship when you said you would. Matt may or may not have shared some of the blame in that, but the fact is that you were at least partialy responsible for it. That is the point in time when, IMO, the "contract" (including your TOS) became null and void, and from that point on, you were simply holding onto Matt's money without any valid reason. (Again, your TOS do not apply to a contract that was cancelled when you violated it.)

It was simply the fact that you hung on to this "TOS" argument, and that it was obviously all about pride, that made this thread look bad for you. That was not Matt's fault, or the BOI's fault. It was 100% your choice. It did not help that last Wednesday you stated that you had ten thousand dollars in cash sitting on your kitchen table, and you spent a couple hours posting/reading on the BOI, yet you could not take a few minutes to send Matt's money to Matt at that time. Apparently there was something magical about Monday, yet no explanation was ever forthcoming. The only motive that makes sense is, again, pride.

Whether or not that makes you a "good guy" or "bad guy" or neither or both, is up to each individual reader to decide. However, if you had simply refunded Matt's money at the beginning of this thread instead of trying to convince everyone else that you were a good guy through words instead of actions, I believe it would have had a much more pleasant outcome for everyone, including yourself.

Payment must be received within 30-days of the time the animal becomes available. If payment is not received before the 30-day period has ended, the buyer will FORFEIT the entire deposit and the animals will be sold, unless otherwise agreed upon. The truly amazing thing that we have never received any comment on from Adam is that the issues he touts as parts of his TOS that he will not violate are, in fact, NOT part of his TOS. His entire Terms Page is shown above and i do not see anything about No Cash Refunds.

One thing I've noticed about Adam is his location as Long Island, NY. It's probably rude of me to share that my impression of most people from LI is that they are "short, down to business", can be rather abrupt etc. That being said, I do understand Adam's position and can see just how he got himself in hot water over this situation. He thought he was handling business and since Matt seemed amiable in their phone conversations he missed his cue to get this snake shipped and that his buyer was getting anxious.

New Yorkers see things differently, I think Adam has handled this situation very well considering his handicap!

If I was a New Yorker, I would not be proud to be associated with the quality of character that has been displayed here by this New Yorker. Is this truly the way New Yorkers think? Is this truly the way New Yorkers conduct business?

It's no more fair to say "all New Yorkers are blunt and harsh" than it is to say that "all Southerners think and talk slowly". That is no excuse for all the assumptions and poor communication that happened in this unfortunate deal. I've had both good and bad customer service from New Yorkers.

Hopefully Millenium Morphs learns from this to clearly state their intentions and to clearly word their communications. Reiterating what you understand a situation to be is far more preferable to "assuming it's ok" or "assuming he agreed". But people should not be allowed to hide under the assumption that "New Yorkers are busier and more abrupt". Plenty of New Yorkers are very clear in their communications, written or otherwise. Do they tend to talk fast? Yes.

I send letters through the USPS every DAY...it should not take 5 days for it to show up...especially with 6 days to lick the envelope and put the flag up...
But given the benefit of the doubt...I will contain my raw excitement at a possible conclusion to this tedious thread until Monday...LOL

Unballieveable

I have read this entire thread and even sent Adam an email pointing out the obvious. Towards the end of the thread I see a lot of acceptance so to speak and how Adam has gone out of his way to make it right and those that said it know who they are. You can dissect or quote or surmise many different things at any point in this thread, but now here is one to really chew on with no fat and right to the point. There really is no other way to sum this up.

Matt made initial deposit on May 27th of 1500 cash after agreed upon terms of 1500 down and 1100 within 60 days. The final installment was made on July 11th and cashed on July 27th. At some point Adam made a trip to the bank and assuming the bank put a 10 day hold on the out of state check, it did clear on the 27th. That meant at midnight of the 26th/27th it posted to Adams account. Here is where the confusion lies:

Why didn’t the snake go out or a phone call or email placed to notify the buyer his funds had cleared the day of the 27th like your email response says??? An email confirms he was aware the funds were enroute and Matt even asked that he be contacted as soon as the check clears and Adam replied with “No problem” Then on August 9th Adam replies with an email confirming it should have cleared and he will be shipping soon. After 1 week Matt emails again on the 16th and by now it is not feasible to ship because of the show coming up and a congested schedule with Daytona. Whether it was an email or phone call, Matt agreed to wait on you to ship after Daytona which would have been anytime after August 23rd. Only until September 20th did Matt lose his mind and decide to ask for his money back. So here it is in a simple equation:

May 27th - 1500 cash

June 9th - 500 cash

July 27th - 600 cash and the animal is paid in full.

August 9th Adam is sending it soon

August 18th I’m busy and both agreed upon, an after Daytona date

August 21st Daytona is finished

September 1st email with no reply from Adam

September 15th Adam replies that his pc is down and for some reason his phone didn’t work either???

September 20th Matt is tired and done waiting and lost his mind and requests cash back in full…………….Which I certainly would have done easily a month earlier!

I am pretty good with math so here’s the other part of the equation. From the very morning Matt had satisfied his payment obligation to the moment he said “I want my money back” there were 38 possible shipping days/dates for the animal to be shipped using an overnight service excluding weekends and the 3 days prior to Daytona and during. Keep in mind as a business all you have to do is call and they will come get your package and based upon the emails provided it was an overnight service.

If they had used Delta or any major cargo airline, it would have been same day and there would have been 49 possible shipping days/dates for him to receive the animal in question.

I’m sorry but I have absolutely no reason to EVER believe Adam went out of his way and only when this issue was beat to death on the BOI did a refund ensue. As a matter of fact, at no point with whichever service you use in 38 or 49 days did Adam EVER try and do the right thing. It is almost laughable at the amount of time and patience Matt endured before and after any agreement by email or by phone. There is no way whatsoever to justify NOT shipping the animal between July 27th and August 16th. Which left 15 business days to ship or 21 days by cargo.

It is obvious Adam will never see the errors of his ways. When an animal is purchased from me and the sale is complete, the animal goes out the next business day following, unless that next day conflicts with the buyers schedule or mine and then other arrangements are made to ship with a sense or urgency. Everyone I know personally and deal with in this hobby work under the same rules. No if’s and’s or buts about it. Anything less than that is BS!!!! Which is exactly what this is.

I tried to chat with Adam and explain this, but not a chance. Only when he is made to look like a less than horrible seller, do other excuses come into play, ie….TOS, no address, phone replies, etc………

Absolutely amazing!!!!! If you have had tons of support for you and generated tons of sales from your discount offered on this thread, hang onto them, because that too is surprising!!!

Naturally this is just my opinion substantiated by rational expectations from a sellers point of view.

This is absolutley ridiculous. Was a scanned copy of the check ever produced like Adam said he would do? Is he too busy? What up Adam?

?????

Sounds like more broken promises!!!! Yea I'll send you money, I wouldnt take a snake from you for free..

Matt,

We haven't heard any updates in a while although you were logged in this morning. This leads me to believe that your check has not arrived yet. If it was mailed on Monday it should've arrived already. I'm in quite a remote location and a normal delivery to almost any part of the US has taken 4 days at the most. Were you provided with a tracking number of some sort? It's hard to believe that anyone would send a check for that amount, and not ask USPS for a tracking # or proof of delivery.

If it arrives today and you deposit it on Monday, it might clear before mid-November, right?

I would have

Matt,
I would have flown cross across the country to get my 2500.00...This way it couldnt get lost in the mail...

Hopefully the check arrived or will arrive soon.

Too many rip off artists lately.

It seems no matter who they are (a well known name or a one time poster) you really are taking a big chance lately.

Why can't people treat the customer the way they would like to be treated? Then there would be no problems.

Things like this have really made me disgusted with the concept of buying and selling online.

You are absolutely right Steve. But you know what? This week I discovered that there are still a lot of honest people out there. For the first time in my life I followed my gut instinct and sent cash in the mail, not a check, not a money order but old-fashioned concealed "buckaroos". You might say I took a risk, but it was a well calculated risk and I'm very glad I did it. Now that person has been added to the "unconditional" to-do-business-with list.

Regards.

Wow. That is awesome!

I like to hear about the good ones.

I recently took a risk and it bit me in the behind. I shipped with only a deposit thinking the person was honest based upon our emails. Never got the balance and have not heard from this person since.
